I recently dined at Rare Steakhouse Uptown, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The service was attentive, professional, and genuinely accommodating. One moment that really stood out was how the staff handled a wine that tasted slightly off. They listened, explained, and without hesitation opened a fresh bottle — ensuring I ended up with a glass that paired perfectly with my meal. That level of confidence and customer care is exactly what you expect from a top-tier restaurant. The food was outstanding. Every course felt refined and high-end — scallops, kangaroo, eye fillet, and sides were all executed beautifully. Dessert was excellent, finishing with a crème brûlée paired thoughtfully with wine. The wine list itself is impressive and clearly curated with care, making it easy to build pairings throughout the meal. Overall, Rare Steakhouse Uptown delivers on quality, service, and atmosphere. A truly memorable dining experience, and one I’d happily return to and recommend.

Booked our NYE dinner date here, booking service made it easy! Steak cooked perfectly, the sauces were rich and flavoursome. It ain't a cheap place, but also not super over priced, there are different options to choose from. Since it's NYE we also grabbed a bottle of wine 🍷 . Great service. Would come back. It's not your white table cloth quiet fancy place, it's more relaxed but moody vibey place.

I decided to treat my cousins to an early Christmas celebration the Friday before. We had an Amazing dinner at Uptown, superb food and Excellent Service. The dishes were perfect for us to share and so delicious, from entree to dessert. We were well looked after by Rhiannon through out the course of dinner.

Great service, okay steak, average decor. Taking my friend out to this steakhouse as a treat. The service was great, near perfect actually, but the food was not as good as I had hoped for given the price. The best part was the garlic bread - warm, fluffy, good texture and a great start. Calamari was good too, slightly lacking in flavour. My friend’s t-bone LOOKED good, as was my sirloin, but I am sorry to say that my steak TASTED just okay, not fantastic. Not a lot of flavour, and not perfectly cooked (a bit tough on the outside, under on the inside; and that’s not ideal medium-rare…) The broccolini and beans on the side was just blanched, low effort. Also, the decor didn’t feel premium… With so many other choices in Melbourne, probably won’t be back.

I had a wonderful evening with my friend. The food was excellent, the oysters were delicious, the wagyu cooked to perfection. Many thanks to the team who made it such a pleasant evening, our waitress Catalina was very professional and friendly. Thanks to James and Silvina for their welcome and the barman, Mark, for his delicious Blood Mary… I recommend!
