Not only are Ashlee and Alex incredibly knowledgeable and consummate professionals, they've created an environment where anybody, regardless of skill level, can make meaningful progress on their fitness. When I started the semi-private personal training sessions, I was a novice in terms of weightlifting and resistance training. In a few short months, I already look and feel better, both physically and mentally. This is the perfect gym for beginners looking to improve their fitness.
My wife and I have been doing 2-on-1 training sessions with Ashlee for about 4 months now and have loved it! Ashlee is an amazing trainer. Super knowledgeable, kind, and a great teacher! I generally have a hard time working out on my own but she makes it easy and fun. She puts together great routines that help target the key muscle groups we've been looking to improve. For instance I came in with a weak back and frequent back pain - through training it's become much stronger and is now rarely giving me problems. Excited to continue growing stronger!

I signed up for 1-on-1 training with Alex Laurel for two and then three times a week. He’s been a great asset, and I’ve seen tremendous results thanks to his tailored programming. Every trainer is super nice, and they meet you where you are while pushing you to progress. I feel much more confident in my abilities and overall fitness (both mental and physical) thanks to Alex and Redefine. I’d highly recommend both!
Before starting at Redefine, I did not have the self-discipline to exercise regularly. I’m the person that would try exercising for one or two weeks and then stop, and then try again six months later only to stop again. Since starting at Redefine, my whole attitude around exercising has changed, and, in a way, it’s a new hobby! I’m constantly thinking “who am I?!” — I would have never guessed exercise would be an easy part of my routine! Their system of semi-personal training just works for me. I like that I have to sign up for a session in advance, and that I have personalized exercise programs each month. When in the gym, I like the small groups (no gym bros here!) and the trainers are super friendly and encouraging (I work with Ashlee and Alex the most). It’s a great community to be a part of and I 110% recommend!
My wife and I recently joined ReDefineRVA. We really love the atmosphere and attitude of the employees. Everyone working there is so positive and inviting. Demetrius and Darrell are fantastic trainers. Their energy and encouragement push you to step outside of your comfort zone and work a little harder. I'm in a wheelchair and they have done a great job working with me and my challenges to modify a workout plan that has been really effective for me. Their classes are small which enables them to spend time with each person and help them get the most out of their workouts.
