Bought a gorgeous ring here. They said one week for sizing. It took TWO DAYS. I was so excited I was vibrating with joy to get it so quickly!
I dropped off my watch with Ridglea Watch & Jewelry for service and repair of the crystal and mainspring. A few days later, Mark (owner) calls me with a price quote and a timeframe of 5-6 weeks. I agreed to the price and timeframe and gave permission for work to begin. After 5.5 weeks I called the store to get an update on the progress and an to see if it was still on track to be completed in 6 weeks. I was told that Mark (owner) would call me back. A couple hours later I received a call from Mark. The tone of the call was unexpected. I was told that the watch was really complicated, and it would be 2-3 more weeks and if I would have taken it to a factory authorized repair shop it would have taken 8 months. At that moment, I really didn’t know how to respond. Perhaps Mark was expecting me to be grateful that he was only going to take 9 weeks instead of the 6 he quoted? After the call, I took a few hours to process everything to determine if I was rude or if my tone could have been construed as upset. Once I decided that I was not the one being rude, I called back and asked if work on my watch had started. Mark stated that it had started and asked why I was asking. I told him that based on the previous conversation I did NOT want to do business with him any further and I would prefer to take the watch to another service provider. I explained that I didn’t appreciate being spoken to so rudely. I told him I knew the watch was complicated, I was the one who bought it and I had no issues at all with the timeframe he initially provided, and I was simply checking on the status and did not appreciate being told that if I would have taken it somewhere else it would have taken 8 months. I stated if the repair was going to take 9 weeks that is fine but that could have been communicated. “Hey Mr. ____ the repair on your watch is taking a little longer than expected, and we were giving you a courtesy call to let you know it will be a couple more weeks!” - a simple communication like that would have been fantastic customer service. The conversation ended with me agreeing to wait the additional 2-3 weeks for the repair to be completed. Six days later, I am out of state on a family vacation, and I get a voicemail from Mark telling me the was has been sealed up and NOT repaired and I could pick it up and take it where I wanted. This was a frustrating and unprofessional experience. Mark was passive-aggressive and vindictive to a customer simply because I called and asked for an update. Avoid this business at all costs.
Ridglea Watch and Jewelry are AMAZING, with absolutely AWESOME people! I went to have links taken out of my Christian bracelet, and not only did the man help me , he went ABOVE AND BEYOND to make sure the stones in my Cross STAYED secure and in place ! He didn’t ask me for a dime ! We spoke about God , Scripture , and Church ! A Holy Man! Made my heart happy to see a fellow believer and speaker of Christ! I highly recommend this place ! Also if you believe, have a conversation with him . I promise it will brighten your day ! God Bless you sir 🙏
Ridglea Watch & Jewelry is my new go-to in Fort Worth. Their on-site horologist diagnosed and tuned up my vintage Seiko in no time, and while I waited the jeweler even gave my ring a complimentary deep clean. Friendly experts, fair prices, and a bright showroom on Camp Bowie—what more could you ask for? Highly recommended!
I have been taking luxury watches to Mark at Ridglea Watch & Jewelry for many years. I can always count on him for an honest accurate assessment of each individual timepiece. He has serviced my Rolex President, Rolex Daytona, Rolex Datejust, Piaget Polo Day/Date and Piaget Gouverneur Date. The range of work included simple repair and sizing, to demagnetizing, and all the way to full wristwatch service. I have never known Mark to provide anything less than stellar service. He’s the best…and their prices are reasonable as well.
