My wife and I have been celebrating our anniversary here in the same rv stop for years. The staff has always been great but this year they went above and beyond. They dropped off an anniversary gift and a Merry Christmas gift at our site this afternoon. They are the most professional, fun loving and incredible group of people! Come up and enjoy the lake, the store, two bars and this amazing staff! Highly Recommended!
Relaxing, quiet stop. Can't wait until they have showers available, then we will be back
Nice Lake Views. The lake side rows are electric only with FHU in the back rows. All sites were basically dirt driveways spaced out. Initially they assigned us to be neighbors with the only other campers in a 12 site row. When we requested to be spaced out more, they offered site 2 or 3 which are separated by the road and right next to the lake. Some sites had picnic tables....it looked like they were in the process of adding new tables to the sites. Be sure to visit the Roosevelt Dam and Bridge. Take the Apache Trail road up to the Dam Overlook park for a very interesting view of the backside and water flow that makes the Salt River.
The park is located about 30 miles north of Globe. There is pavement all the way. Signage is adequate. Check in was efficient and friendly. The rules are fairly basic. The interior roads are paved until you arrive at the RV Park section then there are some deep ruts to cross. Our site, 19, was a back in that was just long enough for our Coach and Towed. Services (30/50 amp, water and sewer only) were to the left side. Distancing is poor for a rural park. Each site has a concrete patio and a fire pit. The base is small pea gravel that tracks everywhere. During our stay there was NO table but, we could see that there we some being assembled so we expect there will be tables in the near future. Our site was flat and even. Overall the park was poorly maintained. The fire pit in our site had been moved at least twice before our arrival. I discovered screws and nails around the old pit areas. I took it upon myself to rake and remove as many as I could find. There was also a lot of trash to the rear of our site as well. During our stay we did not see any attempt to clean or maintain the sites. There is NO park included wifi or cable TV. We did not find any OTA channels. Satellite will not be difficult. We did not use the washrooms but we checked and found them clean. There are NO showers available. We expected there to be access to the lake from the park but the only access is at the boat launch area. The shore is rocky but it still would have been nice if there would have been some access away from the boat launch. There is a bar type restaurant and convenience store easily walkable from the RV area. We found this park to be disappointing. The only real pluses are the surrounding scenery and close proximity to the Apache Trail. We paid $75.00 per night and we feel we received very poor value. We will not be back. We will use the RV Park near Tortilla Flats which we found to be clean and well maintained in the past.
This is a perfect place for a small lake experience! Boats, kayaks, paddle boards, fishing, camping. There are picnic areas on the beaches, with restrooms, as well as barbecue areas. Make sure you get your pass, this is a beautiful outdoor experience. So if you bring it in, make sure you bring it out! Have fun, and stay safe!
