I was in to get my eyebrows done and eyelashes tinted, I'm pregnant so my top lip hairs are a bit darker. Whilst finishing up my eyebrows she decided to comment on my lip like it had to be done, I've never had my lip threaded before, she didn't ask if I had, didn't say if it would be waxed which I have had done but she proceeded to use the same string she used on my eyebrows. I've broken out and it's severely sore. I didn't get the tint done on my eyelashes I left, she didn't stop when I made it clear it was painful she just said it's almost done. Her services are normally great, but I don't appreciate being pressured and in pain, I don't casually treat myself to this type of thing, wanted to feel better because my pregnancy been hard. Up selling by bring your self esteem isn't right you don't know what a persons going through.
Rang up and inquired about a Brazilian wax. Told they take walk-ins and it’s £30. In Belfast, I’ve had Brazilians between £20 and £35 so £30 was absolutely acceptable. After an initial discussion about strip width, the wax commenced. After doing a basic bikini wax, Roz began to pack up the wax. I asked was she finished and when she said yes, I said but I’ve asked for a Brazilian. She told me that that’s what it was and that a Hollywood was everything off. I have had Brazilians for years all over the world, and what I initially had was a standard bikini wax. Again, after a discussion, Roz re-commenced waxing for the “Hollywood” (despite keeping the strip). I asked after a few moments how much a Hollywood wax is and she told me £50!! I said I’m not paying that, I asked for a Brazilian and agreed to a Brazilian Which is universally known as all hair off apart from a strip. This started another discussion that went on for a few minutes in which Roz told me the price would be £40. Later I sent screenshots from Google probing the definition of a Brazilian wax and said clients need clarity on what she defines as ‘brazilian’. She was attentive to detail, but this is an absolute racket. I can’t understand Roz calls this a Brazilian when what she’s offering is standard bikini. Be careful and clear when getting bikini line waxed
I would absolutely avoid. If like me you rely on Google reviews to find places, like I did to find this eyebrow salon, this review is for you. Roz’s place has solid 5-star reviews, and now I see why it was explicitly for threading. I went in and asked for my eyebrows to be done and the young girl said she could only do waxing. I thought, fine, ok, let’s go with waxing. For context, I’m a brown girl who has only ever had threading, so I was actually quite excited to try something new and thought it would be clean and quick. I understand you can’t get it as neat, but honestly, she could have just said, “No, sorry, I don’t do brows,” and I’d have come back later. She’s working away at my brows and I just sit in silence waiting for them to be done. At one point she’s got the tweezer pulling at my brows and I’m thinking this is weird, but I left it. She shows me the mirror and asks if they’re ok, and I swear to god, I’m the girl who will say something is nice and go home and cry about it, but my mouth was wide open. I had a whole chunk missing from my eyebrow. The girl doing them didn’t once say “I’m so sorry I messed up” or “something went wrong.” Mistakes happen, I get it, but she ignored it and wouldn’t make eye contact with me after that, just tapping away at her phone whilst I genuinely sat there in shock. I’m thinking, how the hell can I go out like this? I have face-to-face meetings all next week. I asked if I had to pay for that and she said yes, and told me £10, but I said no, I’m not paying. I offered her a fiver at most but said I could only pay by card. She couldn’t do that, so she asked if I had cash. I said no, but I’ll leave my number and come later once the manager is there to explain that they’re bad and I’m not paying. It’s the least I can do. Regardless, I had a service, but I’m not paying for that, so I need to explain why. I went later that day and the manager wasn’t there, but another worker was, and the pure shock on her face seeing my brows said it all. The wee girl in the shop was in shock too after hearing me explain this and asked how the girl earlier that morning had even managed to do that (I don’t know). Roz was then on the phone, very defensive when actually she needed to be very apologetic. I explained I was there to tell them I’m sorry I left my number but I’m not paying. She asked if it could be fixed and I’m thinking no, not without thinning them out. She then couldn’t understand why I’d even come back at all and was very angry that I spoke to the other customer in the shop and showed her my eyebrow. The shop is one room, she heard and she saw. I’ve got two missing chunks out of my eyebrows, they’re not even cut down and they’re still a complete mess. Mistakes happen, but apologise — it calms everyone down instead of pretending I’m in the wrong for missing half my eyebrow before I go to my meetings in London next week. The girls working in Kiko afterwards were just stunned and witnessed my crash out as I had to buy eyebrow stuff because I don’t even own a pencil or anything to fill them in. If you ask them about the girl that crashed out, they’ll tell you it was me x The first before is a before and the second is the after. You be the judge.
This is the only place I will go to. The eyebrow threading is the fastest and least painful of any place I've been. Roz is the best of all!
Amazing prices for eyebrow wax and mustache threading I got. The lady was so friendly and gentle once she realized my skin is very sensitive haha. I’d recommend anyone new to the area to try, especially if you like shaped and thinner brows.
