I've been going for about a month now. I've tried each day of the week and have met almost all the instructors. Each one is great in their own way. The space is non judgemental and encouraging. I feel healthier already
Took the 9:30 am class on Wednesday morning and I think his name was Ken was the instructor. The class was well instructed with a good pace and a balance between flows and instruction. All the tips that were given were helpful and definitely good for preventing injury. I would definitely recommend this studio for anyone visiting Winnipeg!!
Save your money. I attended over a dozen classes in one month and here is my honest review. I’ve attended many yoga studios in Winnipeg for over 15 years (over 8 different locations and business) . I consider myself and advances yogi. The teachers were all friendly and inviting. But with the virtual classes being recorded the same time as live classes it means you will not get the full attention of the instructor during in-person classes. The teachers will never leave their mats, provide personal posture corrections or be able to see how everyone in class is following along. The Kildonan facility does not have a cold water dispenser of any sort to bring cold water to class. Only a rickety falling apart sink near the door that provides warm room temp water. If you want cold water for class bring your own own have ice prepared. During several visits dirty water was dripping on people during class from the ceiling. I had a couple of questions for the owner regarding class schedules and over a 6 wk period did not once receive a confirmation of email receipt or a response. This did not make me feel like a valued or appreciated customer. Even staff members admitted that responses were unlikely or untimely and would likely go unanswered. Considering the drop in fee is nearly $30 per class (where many in the city are $10-15) and the monthly memberships are almost 4x that of other studios where you will have more attentive instruction and better quality facilities I would not recommend a membership here. I truly wanted to give Modo a positive review. Perhaps it is just this location but I will be cancelling my membership in favour of other studios in the city where my membership is appreciated and I receive the quality instruction, care and attention of posture correction that so many other studios offer.
Walking into the building greeted by wonderful people at the front desk put me at ease right away, even though I was still a bit nervous and intimidated with it being my first time in a hot yoga studio. I have to say I did go back and felt welcome everytime. In the studio the instructors make you feel good, strong and put you in the mindset that it is your practice and you do as you need with guidance and without being judged. They are very open with questions you may have after your session in order to make the next one even better. All instructors have been great so far. The facility itself is good, lots of lockers, few showers and hair dryers provided if needed. It is aways clean and there is lots of parking available. Also online booking for each session online is an added bonus. I love it, easy and accessible at all times. I will definitely be continuing my yoga journey with them.
I was new to hot yoga and was not expecting to really enjoy it when I signed up for my first class at Modo Yoga. I was surprised by how much I enjoyed it! The instructors are fantastic, and I love the variety of different classes and class times available. I go two to three times a week now and am definitely hooked! Addendum: 15 classes in and still going strong! Love, love this place. I would go every day if I could.

Transform your wellness journey with mindful hot yoga in a supportive, non-judgmental space.
