San Diego Music Studio

I cannot recommend San Diego Music Studio enough! My daughter has a major audition coming up next Friday, and we were in a panic when her bass clarinet started sounding off. We brought it in for maintenance and explained the tight deadline. They understood immediately and went above and beyond to get the instrument fixed and back in her hands quickly so she wouldn't miss practice time. ​We are currently on our 4th instrument rental with them, and their program is fantastic. It’s rare to find a business that combines a great rental structure with such compassionate, high-quality customer service. Thank you for helping us out in a pinch!

Great customer service! Awesome selection of reeds. Most impressed by their in house repair tech! Most places you drop it off, it gets picked up by some random tech and returned weeks later. Here the repair tech came out, asked us to play a few notes and inspected our instrument. Within minutes he knew the problem! Dropped our saxophone off on Monday and we had it back by Wednesday! You guys are seriously the best! Definitely coming back in the future!

Every time I go to San Diego Music Studio I'm reminded of why I keep coming back. The staff there is so friendly and kind. Their repair turnaround time is always faster than another popular San Marcos instrument rental/repair spot. I love that when I call them they pick up the phone and are able to answer my questions, and when I go into their store, they're always super nice. What a fantastic business!

So I've been searching for a 1/4 violin for my son and it seems like a lot of music stores just don't have inventory. And if they had it, it was for rent only. Well, this store does! And its pretty much a one stop shop. I've been also looking for a shoulder rest for him and this store had exactly what I was looking for (and tons of them to be exact). Their rental prices per month were also the cheapest around town. They have a "rent to own" type of thing where if you end up paying the price of the violin, you just get to keep it. Kinda cool. Also, this store pays attention to the small details. So many stores have untuned violins on display. Their violins on display are tuned!!! How refreshing. Anyways, the store looks small, but is huge inside. We came around school band season and they had tons (and I mean tons) of instruments laying around for kids and their school bands. Tons of selection for sheet music too. They had a Super mario songs book for piano which my kids gravitated towards. Anything to make them want to learn music. It'll be my future music purchase once they can read notes. They also offer lessons inside the store which is nice. We live a little too far for lessons, but if we lived closer, I would definitely be coming here for lessons. Clean store, and super friendly staff who know their music and you can ask them questions about any instruments. David was super friendly and helpful!

This store CARES!! ...about you. ...about your kid. ...about their school's music program. And they will do everything they can to make your experience the best that they can provide! Years of piano lessons, over a decade of supporting our school district's bands and orchestras, and a team of employees who are knowledgeable and friendly makes this little shop the absolute BEST in all of North County (or, dare I say, the county!). LOVE THEM!!!
