We had our first of hopefully many visits to the Shambhala Centre last night. Warm welcoming energy from Xavier and the group. Some very insightful meditation tips from Robert. 🙏 Great place if you are new to meditation, returning or a seasoned veteran.

Excellent place for practicing meditation in a group setting. It’s clean, and welcoming. Did a weeklong retreat this winter(22’-23’)and it was a worthwhile endeavour. Gail and Donald had put an A+ effort to making it a success.

The volunteers and staff are very friendly and helpful. The space is beautiful and well equipped. However, be warned there is little done to ensure those practising in their group meditation sessions are respectful and considerate of others. I've had many experiences now of people coming in late to a group session speaking loudly to the volunteers /staff, playing with their phone notifications etc. One time a woman came in late, stormed into the room, and knocked my head with her bag on the way to her seat. Needles to say, if you're serious about your practice and are looking for a group session, this is definitely something to consider.

This is a lovely meditation centre. Best one I've found in Toronto. Wonderful community. I haven't been in quite a few years, but I plan on returning very soon. Drop in meditation is free, but donations are welcome (and encouraged). They also have a number of great courses to help you on your path.
