I've really liked Shriners in the past, but not so much after today. The doctor is great, we really like him. But today, the x-ray techs were supposed to only take 2 X-rays of my 9 month old, but they ended up taking 5, because they didn't think the first ones were good enough and they kept retaking them. We asked the doctor about it and he said they shouldn't have done that and that the first ones were fine. Radiation isn't something to mess around with and can cause a lot of harm. I'm really upset and worried now and I don't think we'll be coming back. I was obviously panicking in the x-ray room and the only thing one of the x-ray techs said was that my husband and I were obviously new parents, because we were worried about our kid screaming and crying and getting way more x-rays than necessary.

I was about 7 years olde when a friend of my parents helped me to get there from Bolivia. I was in the hospital for 2 years and that experience changed my life. I will be forever greatful for the wonderful people (nurses, teachers and friends) and for the learned skills I got there. I love this place although none of the people I used to know might be gone.

We have visited Shriners now for over 3 years. We have been so lucky to have such wonderful care. This place is completely different than any other children's hospital. The children truly are first. We'd be lost without them. Dr. Carroll is an amazing person and we know there were no better hands for our child's surgery.

Dr. Carroll is hands down the best doctor I have ever met. It is incredibly hard to be an amazing doctor and amazing person and she is both! She took the time to listen to my child, my husband and myself and I feel so happy and confident that we got the best treatment. He was even able to be seen for a leg brace the same day in POPS and they were just as great with my son. This was such a refreshing change from what we are used to. I am so thankful to everyone here at Shriners. This was truly an amazing experience for us.

I never thought I would be someone who had to frequent specialized children's hospitals, but having been put in that position, Shriners has been absolutely amazing. Their doctors, nurses, therapists, admin staff, even the security guards are so good with my daughter. They always make us feel welcome, they put us (and her) at ease, and they always have knowledge and a plan of action. Top notch establishment.
