So very disappointing. I hadn't been here in about 7 years (pre-covid) it has always been reliably very good. This time was terrible. The only positives were the beautiful building and they did not keep us waiting for a table. It was downhill after that. Service was very slow. Waited for 10 minutes for menus, another 10 minutes for cold bread. They eventually brought us a watery wedge salad followed by a barley warm porterhouse for 2 ordered medium rare but served "blue", VERY rare (see photos). The whipped potatoes were lumpy and my rye and rum old fashioned was not well prepared. So, suffice to say that absolutely every part of the dinner was disappointing. Nearly $300 with 20% tip and frankly, I've had better meals at Texas Roadhouse.
We had an absolutely amazing experience at this steakhouse. From the moment we walked in, the service was outstanding, especially thanks to Mr. Reyes, who went above and beyond to make our night truly special. He was attentive, professional, and incredibly kind, making us feel welcomed and taken care of the entire evening. The food was spectacular. Every dish was cooked to perfection, from the steaks to the sides, full of flavor, beautifully presented, and simply unforgettable. You can really tell they care about quality and consistency. This place has become ,our go-to spot for special occasions. Whether it’s a celebration, a date night, or just wanting to enjoy an exceptional meal, this is where we always choose to come. Highly recommended, amazing service, incredible food, and a wonderful atmosphere. We will definitely be back!
We had a reservation late evening and had to cancel it last minute, phone hostess was very nice about it and recommended that if our plans were to change we could also walk in to their more relaxed late night eatery off 49th(it’s above the restaurant on 3rd). Well we did end up going later and boy were we glad we did. Initially walking in the maître d’ did recommend we go to the restaurant upstairs, but after a discussion with the back staff, they were obliged to seat us in the main dining area. Tony was very welcoming, hospitable and eager to help us enjoy the evening! Phillip our waiter was fantastic, I couldn’t be any more comfortable eating with my family in such a welcoming and warm environment! My family loved the Caesar salad and bone in rib eye, it was more than enough to share, and the prime rib was out of this world delicious! They even went out of their way to get me a slice of that prime rib because they were initially out of it in the main kitchen, what service! The whipped potatoes and creamed spinach were good accompaniments to the meat. For desert we indulged in a huge slice of carrot cake, delicious! Thanks to the staff for making the night wonderful, it was all greatly appreciated, and we will see you on our next visit to NYC!
Our food was DELICIOUS!!! Perfectly cooked, and absolutely scrumptious. Our weight staff was friendly and attentive. We couldn’t ask for more… however making the reservation was challenging. We called in specifically asking to be seated in the main dining room for a special occasion… we were announcing our engagement to my fiancé’s two adult sons. We were assured this wouldn’t be an issue… only to arrive to find out that it was a problem… One of his sons had already arrived and was seated upstairs. They went and got him, and then we had to wait in the lobby for 12 minutes waiting for our main dining room table… by the time we were seated, what we’d hoped would be a magical announcement over a toast, had taken place in front of the coat check 🥹 disappointing… especially after Jenny had assured us she understood we wanted the main dining room and had made a note of our special occasion.
I loved my bone-in filet with lobster tail. Sides were great. NY cheesecake was perfect. Area for improvement is with the cocktails. My Manhattan was served with a bunch of small ice cubes. A single, perfect cube should be used at an establishment like this. Wait staff was great, no frills, no nonsense. I'm my opinion, they could have engaged with us a bit more, but this might just be a NYC thing. The restaurant is nice, but all seats are uncomfortable. They are rickety wood chairs with a thin, tie-on, fabric cushion. I sat at the end of a table with fold-out wings so it could host our party of 6. I couldn't rest my arms or elbows on the fold-out without feeling that it would collapse. When my plate came, there was a good slant to it! The space was cramped and I was bumped a couple times by passersby.
