Wow. That was incredible! I tried two different techniques while I was at Evolve: Breath Work and SPRe body work . Both for the first time. Chelsea and Jill are both highly skilled and very chill. I felt safe and had confidence in them, which was important for me as I really didn't know what to expect. I knew I wanted to learn some techniques that I can use to calm my central nervous system. I also have a number of pain related ailments and wanted to get a sense of where my body was holding stress or blocking recovery. I'm happy to report that after one breathwork session I left with a much better understanding of how I breathe, and how I can open up to deeper and more directed breathwork. More importantly, she gave me some basic visualization tools to use with the breathing that I can build on by myself. I've used this a number of times since and I'm able to bring myself to a calm and strong state using these tools. I wish I had booked more time to do the SPRe bodywork while I was in town. I'm glad I dipped my toe in, and I am eager to set up a few sessions with Jill, as I got the sense that she really can help me get to a better place with regards to my chronic pain patterns. It's a lovely studio, with a calm and happy vibe, and I look forward to coming back. Thanks again Chelsea and Jill!
I’ve personally done mostly Mat Pilates (Classes & Privates) over the years, since 2007(?) in OR. There I learned that taking the time to get personalized instruction can make a huge difference w/ what one can get from doing Mat Pilates &/or Reformer Pilates. Huge difference! This year, I’d previously been doing Reformer Pilates in Seattle before Studio Evolve but felt uncomfortable w/ the classes since they were large & not personal therefore good Reformer instruction & assistance were missing. Lucky for me, my daughter happened on Studio Evolve. It was a different experience. Definitely personalized & enjoyable. And what a bonus it is to get to work on the Reformer w/ someone who takes the time to understand my 76 yr old body’s issues. It was great to start w/ Kimmie in Privates & am now doing the Essentials Class w/ Marisha. I consider them both my “Pilates Peeps”. Thanks to all my Pilates Peeps @ Studio Evolve.
I started at Studio Evolve this year with private lessons with Erin and Elli and I am now going into regular classes. I loved the private lessons as both of them met me where I was and helped me be more connected with my core and breath. Already, the work has helped me outside the studio in my running and strength training, with faster run times and ability to lift more with minimal soreness. It was an easy transition to classes and all the instructors have been incredible in modifying workouts for your level. The small class sizes are a bonus too because you get so much personal attention that it feels like you’re in a private lesson anyway. You also feel very comfortable regardless of skill level because everyone, including fellow classmates, are so supportive and encouraging. Definitely recommend Studio Evolve to anyone who wants to add to their workout routines, recover after injury or just wants to be more connected with their body.
I've been going to Reformer Pilates classes at Studio Evolve weekly since January 2024. My plantar fasciitis has gotten so much better since starting. I feel more toned, stronger, more flexible, and healthier. One thing that made it easy for me to sustain my practice this long is that I always feel comfortable in the studio. The instructors are top notch but respectful to all levels.
I started with a 4-week beginner Pilates special with Jill in April 2023 and have gone once a week ever since. I’ve tried gyms, different classes, and videos, but I never found something that I loved and stayed with consistently. I enjoy the small group sessions especially because Jill and the other instructors are supportive and help tailor the movements to my lower back or neck pain. My core is definitely stronger and I no longer wake up with lower back pain. It’s an investment but it’s definitely better than surgery. Thank you, Studio Evolve!
