She did an amazing job! She was fast kind, the dress was a little tight when she was done and she fixed it with me there! She is so talented and an amazing person! Can’t say enough nice things , you need something done, she can do it!
I went once to get a skirt altered and no problem. So I went again to get a dress altered (note, i had left the dress 2 weeks prior), I go to pick up my dress a day prior to my event, which was going to be out of town, and she cant find my dress??!!…I had to show her a picture so she could try to recall where it was at. She proceeds to say its not done yet and shes barely working on it, the place was packed with clothes and a few wedding dresses she was working on. She tells me to come back in a few hours to pick it up. I was very busy getting ready for my event, but decided fine, ill come back to pick it up. I come back later to pick it up and the dress is botched! She did some sloppy job in a hurry! The dress was soo tight! I told her this isn’t done right its tight! She proceeds to tell me i remember you said make this dress tight! (Excuse me? What?! Never on e said that). I never got a refund, had already paid in advance. She offered to fix but at that point I had no time, i was left scrambling to find something to wear last minute! Absolutely awful experience!! If you cant do the job on time simply tell your customers vs providing poor customer services! Will never go back again!
I was only in the area for 2 days and had a wedding to go to. I had a very minor alteration that was needed and after half of the tailors in Omaha went to voicemail and the other half couldn’t do it, I was so thankful to find Sy’s! She was so polite and helpful and although you could tell she was very busy she took the time to help me and had it done the same day. Perfect job, highly recommended!
If you're needing alterations, I highly recommend Sy's Tailor in Omaha. I've had several dresses hemmed there before, so I trusted them with my wedding dress. Nafisa did great work and was flexible enough to do the finishing touch adding a bustle while I waited! Friendly, quality service.
Do NOT go here. Go to a much friendlier and service oriented place just five minutes away called $2.99 Any Garment Cleaners at 108th and Maple. They are excellent for cleaning and repairs. My bad experience at Sy's is detailed below, and I won't be going back there. I've been here a few times before, and it was fine but recently I had a terrible experience. I had dropped off a pair of shorts to have the seam reinforced. When I dropped it off, the main woman there said it would just be $5 since it was such a small repair and for such a low dollar amount to please bring cash. Neither she nor another woman working there could locate my shorts when I came to pick it up, and after about 5 minutes, they asked me to come back. I was disappointed to have to go out of my way again for a second trip, but mistakes happen. I called back a few hours later to see if they had found it, and they said no. I asked if I would receive a call the next day, and the woman scoffed and said "if we find it tomorrow, we'll give you a call." I thought the attitude was unfair and a day plenty to locate the item. The following day I had a missed call from them, but no voicemail, and since I wasn't going to be able to pick it up in time before closing that day, I didn't call them back to find out if they had located the item. The next day I received a voicemail stating the shorts had been found. When I went to go pick them up, the woman (who was there when during my original pick up visit but not when I dropped the shorts off) said it would be $10, I said no and explained what I had been told originally, she argued with me before saying "Fine, $5 and tax." I said I was told to bring $5 cash, and that's all I had on me. She sighed and acted put out, but finally accepted the formerly agreed upon payment. My ticket (picture attached) says $5. The work wasn't even good. The attached pictures show what the repaired seam looks like compared to the original seam on the other short leg. I wish I hadn't brought the shorts here. I'm not sure why someone feels they can treat others like this after I had been understanding about the mistake in the first place. If I had been in this woman's place, I would have apologized for misplacing the shorts, expressed an urgency in finding them, and I would have waived the $5 charge for the inconvenience of it all. I would have been happy though if someone had just been nice to me and had accepted the originally agreed upon price.
