Food is mediocre at best. Grilled chicken for tacos was dry. I ordered 2 Birria tacos to go with a side of rice and beans. Drove all the way home and there was no consommé. I called and was told it was “only for the combo” and otherwise it was separate. That’s not how it read on the menu - which was misleading. They buttoned up the order so tight in a bag, I couldn’t check it without tearing it open. When I asked if they thought someone should tell me or offer the consommé, I was told “No”. They would rather argue than take care of guest. Typical Latin attitude toward service. Who eats a Birria tacos without consommé? It’s dry meat in a soggy shell without it. That’s how they should advertise it. Don’t go - you’ll be disappointed.

This location is adjacent to the Shell gas station at Dawin and Tulip Blvds. To my knowledge they are the only late night option in this area for a nice meal. The decor is bright and cheerful. If I recall correctly, they only offer booth seating which would require someone in a wheel chair to be seated in the isle. The food was delicious with generous portions and their prices are reasonable. Staff was friendly and good at their job. It would be nice if they had a couple of tables outside either on the side or out front.

At first I was a little taken aback by the prices, but after the first bite I decided I would gladly pay double what they were asking for. Absolutely delicious. I will be back to tour the menu some more

The food was absolutely delicious. The service quick and kind. The atmosphere made me feel like I was having an authentic Spanish experience. Very colorful and plenty to look at while waiting for the food. Earned my business and a good tip. What more could you expect? Will definitely return when in the area. Thanks and great job Taqueira el Rey!
