The Dog Den

Our dog started at the puppy den and graduated to the Dog Den when she was old enough and goes 2-3 days a week. We can see she loves going and playing with her friends. It’s nice to know she’s getting attention instead of laying around at home while we’re at work. It’s clean and not loud when you drive up, I appreciate their staff is trained in dog behavior and they set limits to how many dogs can attend each day.

Would highly recommend the Scrappers class to those with reactive dogs! The staff was very knowledgeable and kind. Both my dog and I gained a lot more confidence in handling stressful situations during our walks.

The Dog Den is a wonderful place to send your pup! They are attentive and exceptional. If there are any behavior issues they let the owners know and try to work toward solutions. They offer classes and enrichment as well. The classes and date nights are fun for pups and owners alike. Outstanding staff!

I wouldn't take my dog anywhere else. This place checks all the boxes: positive reinforcement, enrichment activities, teaching basic manners, grouping dogs by size AND play style (not just dumping them into rooms that reflect their size), feeding them lunch (if needed), training opportunities, and sending cute pictures and videos of your dog via their app.... What facility can top that? I truly feel that my Boston Terrier is in the absolute best hands here. He really loves to play with bigger dogs and because they are placed in rooms based on size and play style, he has that opportunity. He is always so excited when we pull in for drop off and the staff is excited to see him, too. I also like that the majority of the staff holds certifications in training, behavior, etc. It makes me feel much better knowing they can read the body language of dogs, which keeps dogs safe while interacting and playing. The location near Fitchburg has limited outside space but I love that the outdoor play area is fake turf-like material rather than pea stone. Need something else to convince you to try them out? They take holiday themed photos of all the dogs throughout the year and post them to their Facebook. I love searching through and spotting my dog and his friends. The only downfall is there is not a live dog camera like many other facilities have. Last, if you have a puppy, they have a puppy only facility that I highly recommend, too. If you're a helicopter dog mom like me, who wants the absolute best for your dog-child, The Dog Den is the top shelf of daycare facilities.

I don't do social postings much and if I do it's only when I think recognition is deserved. I have been taking my German Shepherd pup to The Dog Den starting with when she was only 3 months at The Puppy Den to continue socialization and training when I brought her home. She graduated from Puppy Den and joined the adult daycare at The Dog Den. She's wicked smart, but extremely stubborn! The staff at The Dog Den are like family to us. They are very patient and understand the various personalities of dogs. Just like people, not all dog are the same. They are all unique in their own ways and mature at different stages. My shepherd not only plays at The Dog Den, but she learns good behavior...how to be a good canine citizen. They pay attention to what's going on and don't just let dogs be dogs. Their training classes are all about positive reinforcement with a lot of patience (for the dog but also the pup parent). They teach not only the dog, but shows what the parent also needs to do to help their pup grow in confidence and have good manners. I am so grateful to The Dog Den and to the loving staff who knows dogs...dogs of all kinds and what their needs are. I am learning a lot as well so that I can be a better parent.
