Such a beautiful venue that allows you the blank canvas to create your day exactly as you have imagined. The team at The Engine Works were incredibly helpful from our first viewing up to an including our wedding day. We were able to get in touch easily with any questions or queries that we had. Thank you for helping to make our wedding day so special. Photos by Claire Juliet Paton.
We got married at the Engine Works in November 2025 and had a spectacular day. We looked at a few venues in Glasgow, but after the first viewing of the Engine Works nothing else really ticked all the boxes! The space is stunning, with lots of room for mingling, lounging, eating and dancing and no need for any big room turnovers. We had our ceremony in the 'Workshop' room which was gorgeous with the big windows flanked by curtains of fairy lights. Afterwards the space was very quickly converted into a lounging space with a kids area which went down great with our youngest guests. The dancefloor was huge, room to really throw yourself into a Strip the Willow! Hannah (the events team co-ordinator on the day) was great, meeting us a few times before the big day and working seamlessly with our wedding planner and suppliers. Every detail was ironed out meticulously before the wedding, so on the day we just turned up and enjoyed ourselves as everyone made everything happen in the background, it was perfect. We also took advantage of some thematic Scottish icy mist to get some photos on the canal which the venue backs onto. The Printroom upstairs also made for some lovely photos with great lighting. Overall, we would strongly recommend the Engine Works as a wedding venue - the cool industrial vibes, enormous and flexible space and ability to cater for any weather conditions, as well as a really switched on, helpful and responsive team make planning the perfect day as straightforward as it could possibly be!
Where do I even start! Absolute professionals from start to finish. Communication was prompt and no question on our part was silly. The whole team have utmost patience and expertise - we felt we were in such good hands throughout the whole wedding planning process. They have an abundance of info and advice of suppliers/vendors and have great advice for the many times we answered “haven’t actually thought about that yet” 😂 we were in great hands with Klara, she was so good at accommodating final run throughs and looked after every single detail. If you want a wedding venue that is a blank slate to create whatever day you wish this is the place to do it. Fantastic access to transport and accommodation, well-known amongst experienced Scottish wedding vendors, amazing value for money and a comfortable, relaxed atmosphere that had guests enjoying themselves all day.
We got married at the Engine Works in October 2025 and would wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone. With its industrial character and refined details, the venue has a cool and edgy vibe that is modern and stylish while still being inviting. We enjoyed having the different spaces for different elements of the day, such as having the ceremony in the Outhouse and our drinks/welcome reception in the Workshop. The day itself ran perfectly. All the staff were so helpful and professional, and ensured everything went to plan and on time. We knew we were in safe hands which meant we could just switch off and enjoy it all. We primarily worked with Hannah, who was fantastic. She was super responsive to any queries we had over the planning period, and the whole team were so flexible. She was in touch with all of our suppliers well in advance so they had all the information they needed, which really added to the smooth and relaxed vibe during the wedding. On the day, Hannah kept us on track with everywhere we needed to be. She had my dress and veil fluffed for all the right moments (giving my MOH a run for her money!), and even sewed my husband’s plaid onto his jacket when his pin broke shortly before the ceremony. She even sent us some photos the team had taken from the day which was such a thoughtful touch. Overall, this is an incredibly well-run venue with extremely professional but personable staff. We absolutely loved having our wedding here, and would recommend to anyone without hesitation.
Fraser and I have been together for 12 years and for about the last 5 years the Engine Works has been on my Pinterest board as my dream wedding venue. 5 days after we got engaged we viewed the venue (the owner thought I was mad when I told him we’d only been engaged for 5 days) and knew it was the one. Not only was it aesthetically everything we were after but all staff were amazing start to finish. Hannah deserves a huge mention as the most amazing co-ordinator who was on top of everything but so laidback at the same time. There was not a question that was too much and she was always fast in her response to any email. I had my doubts as a control freak who had always imagined setting up their own venue the day before but after our final walk through with Hannah I knew we were in safe hands and could totally relax and hand everything over to her. There is not a single thing I’d change about our day and the Engine Works executed everything to perfection! So many of our guests had never seen our venue before and were totally blown away by it. A big thing for me was that I didn’t want a room change over for our day which was something we didn’t need to worry about with the Engine Works as there really was a space for everything. The venue is also the perfect back drop for photos if you’re after that industrial feel. I loved the way we were able to customise everything and having looked at other weddings here every single one is so individual to the couple. We were also able to make last minute changes and add things like a bar tab the day before when we had a little money left in our budget. I could genuinely gush about the Engine Works all day and hope someone else invites us to their wedding there soon so we can experience it all again!
