Christine and I met in grad school and she has supported me in my personal and professional life for almost twenty years. Working with Colleen at Ignite Your Potential Coaching was a true TREAT! I was making a big career pivot when I started my sessions with Colleen and throughout our time together, we dug deep on understanding my unique skill sets, reviewed inspiring frameworks to imagine how to showcase my skills, and gave timely and thoughtful insights on everything in my job hunt process. Reviewing cover letter templates, practicing core interview questions, and checking in on how interviews and follow ups were going. In the past couple of months, I've been preparing for a big move out of state with my boyfriend, and for some reason I had a huge reality scare that I wasn't sure anyone in my inner circle could help me with: I want a career change, and I don't know how to deal with it, or who can help me? I talked to friends & family for advice, but it was hard to find useful tips for someone in my position who just doesn't know what they want, or is barely forming a vague idea. A colleague recommended I speak with a life coach, which is how I found Dr.Colleen Campbell. I visited the website and was able to book a complimentary session to talk with Dr. Colleen to make sure we were a good fit (love it!) before moving any further. Within the first 5 minutes, I was able to describe my worries & Dr. Colleen immediately picked up what I need, some simple Career Coaching! Honestly, how have I never thought about it? She asked me to take a "Strengths Finder Test" for her to analyze before our meeting to best guide me. The test was great, it gave me some confidence I lost in the type of business person I see myself as, I just needed help paving the path for an ideal career. Dr. Colleen made me realize discovering your individual strengths can help you redefine the line of work you want to devote time to (ex. if I like organization & taking control, would I really be comfortable working in a high pace environment with lots of chaos & lack of responsibility). I shared a secret career choice I had in mind was a corporate trainer, I just didn't know how someone makes that happen. Dr. Colleen was able to expand on similar career choices along that line of work, she gave me valuable information when I started inquiring about graduate programs to prepare for that type of career, and how to look for people in that line of work. Although I wasn't expecting her to give me a direct answer of how to become a "Corporate Trainer", she gave me the coaching & tools to discover about the career & how to create the path for myself, it was a huge ego boost. I took her career coaching into practice as I went through my phone interviews, and for the first time I felt confident in my responses & had the courage to ask questions for the future in the company if I decided I wanted to grow into a specific line of work as a facilitator/trainer for them, and would you believe it I actually received lots of feedback on those inquiries?! I highly recommend Dr. Colleen & her business if you are in need of Career Coaching or simply Career Counseling, no matter what stage of your career you may find yourself in. As I prepare for this move out of state, I find myself better prepared to fulfill my happiness with my career, & am thrilled to know Dr. Colleen can simply be a phone call away when I need help again.
