An Unforgettable Experience at The Mayan – Truly Exceptional We recently dined at The Mayan in Birmingham Mailbox to celebrate my wife’s birthday, and I can honestly say it was one of the best restaurant experiences we’ve ever had. From the moment we arrived, everything was absolutely faultless — the atmosphere, the service, the presentation, and most importantly, the food. Every dish was packed with flavour, beautifully presented and cooked to perfection. We were both genuinely amazed at the quality of everything that came to our table. A special mention has to go to Mario, the maître d’, who made the entire evening even more memorable. His professionalism, warmth and attention to detail were outstanding. He made my wife feel incredibly special on her birthday and ensured the whole experience ran seamlessly. You can truly tell when someone takes pride in their work, and Mario absolutely does. It wasn’t just a meal — it was an experience. We left smiling, already planning our next visit. If you’re looking for somewhere special in Birmingham, The Mayan is an absolute must. Thank you to the whole team for making my wife’s birthday so perfect. 💫

Had an amazing Christmas Eve night at The Mayan. The food was delicious and looked too good to eat! loved the taco presentation and the atmosphere was perfect. Special thanks to the manager Giannis, for being so welcoming and making sure everything was perfect for us. It’s rare to find that level of hospitality these days. 10/10, will definitely be back! If you're in Birmingham, you have to try this place.

Came here in September, with family and friends. Thoroughly enjoyed the Sunday lunch offer platter (see picture). Great value, amazing cocktails. Very grand bathrooms, very clean too. Loved the artwork on the walls and the decor in general. The food and drinks were of a very high quality, I look forward to returning and would easily recommend without hesitation. Amazing service - our host was a lovely friendly lady who was attentive and very patient. All staff were just as professional which you’d expect from a high end place.

Had a corporate event which i Had to arrange, everyone at The Mayan made this an amazing experience for all my team (23 people ). They all made sure that I had what I needed and any changes were handled with no issue. food was exquisite, me and my team were very impressed at the presentation and the taste, and the excellent service. A special mention to Mario the floor manager who made sure everything went as it should. Alex who served us mostly was amazing and made sure to check in with me each time to make sure I was happy and all is ok. the others were also very attentive and helped. Definitely recommend highly if you’re looking for fine dining with excellent service. Will be back for Sure. Regards, Parveen NatWest

Beautiful atmosphere, lively music and delicious food. I’d definitely return. I ordered the empanadas, octopus, lamb, green rice and churros. Everything was fresh and amazing. Staff was so friendly, professional and attentive. I am pained that I didn’t take a picture of the churros. They didn’t look like the pictures here on other reviews. They were only about 1 1/2 inch long and we were given 5 small pieces. The food was good but I would say something like that should have been larger like other customers photos for the amount of money paid. We also had to pay for bread and butter. Other restaurants of this caliber give us unlimited bread and garlic butter.
