Esha did an amazing job on my locs! She was super friendly, professional, and really took her time to make sure everything was perfect. The vibe was chill and I left loving my hair. Definitely recommend booking with her!
I have been coming to Esha for 8 years, and I can honestly say she is amazing at what she does. Her professionalism, consistency, and care truly show in the health of my hair. My hair is strong, healthy, and always well taken care of and that speaks volumes. Esha provides great service every single visit. She listens, she’s patient, and she genuinely cares about her clients. You never feel rushed, and you always leave feeling confident and satisfied. The entire salon experience is wonderful as well. The other stylists are just as welcoming and professional, with great customer service that makes the environment warm and comfortable. If I could make review -* I would. (1) Visited salon to discuss what I wanted. I have short natural hair and wanted a trim. Was told by female on left (maybe owner/manager) what I wanted and was told what price would be with/without wash and to take card, scan QR code to schedule. EVERYONE there is certified. Discovered later that certified doesn't mean QUALIFIED. Did just that and scheduled for 1 pm a few days later. (2) Checked in a little before 1, scheduled stylist wasn't there. At 1pm I asked if she's coming was told they were trying to reach her. At 1:15 still not there. Was told she isn't answering but another stylist (in the back) would take me if I could come back at 2 pm. I said make it 2:30 and left. (3) Arrived on time and was called back. Told certified stylist that I wanted wash and trim. She told me that she wasn't comfortable trimming my hair!!!. Told her that all I wanted was a trim and she again said she's not comfortable trimming my hair. Said she would tell "her" to refund my deposit (required when scheduling appt) and I would get it back in 5-7 days. (That didn't make sense either but ok.) (4) WELL, it's been over a month and I still haven't seen my refund. I guess my next step is court.
Careless owner. I started going to Aisha/Speedy late November 2024. I explained my hair is very thick, & I struggle to retain length. She let me know I was in good hands, so I started going every two weeks. The first red flag I noticed was that she couldn’t scrub my scalp properly due to her long stiletto nails. I would have preferred for my scalp to be scrubbed instead of being rubbed with only her thumbs. So I would ask her to at least use a brush and even still she would forget and I would have to remind her to use it every time. Second red flag, she didn’t always deep condition my hair as it comes in the package. She applied a product and rinsed it out immediately after skipping putting me under the dryer. December I could tell my hair was growing and it was nice and full. Fast fwd to January 2025 i noticed my hair started shedding/thinning excessively and notified her immediately. She reassured me that i was in good hands. My next visit I noticed no changes, i informed her again of my concerns! I decided to do rods to prevent further damage and I let her know I would like rods every appointment going fwd. My next visit she proceeded to say “what are you getting?, I hope not Rods!”. She explained she was tired & had things going on in her personal life. Me being the nice & understanding person I am, I told her it’s fine she can do the silk press and I’ll get my rods another time. Basically letting her add more heat to my head and not getting the style I wanted. My next appointment I voiced my concerns AGAIN, explaining that my hair is heat damaged. I did my part by coming to her every two weeks for hair care and advice. Aisha never gave me any feedback regarding my concerns. I decided to go back to braids & agreed on 2/26/25 to have my hair washed and clipped before my braid appointment 2/27/25 (she knew this. 2/26/25 Aisha text me two hours before my appointment to cancel. I called to see if someone else at the shop could take me; however, no one was avail. I had to result to finding a different stylist who had to cut 3 1/2 inches off my hair last minute. My first appointment my hair was to my shoulders; however, it’s no longer that length. I am starting over after going to an “experienced” stylist who didn’t recognize that she was using too much heat after 6-7 appointments. I wanted to build a rapport with Aisha & wish she would have taken my concerns seriously. Maybe even taking time off/ declining appointments (not cutting corners). Granted she is a very nice lady, her shop is nice, but I felt as if she didn’t care. Below are pictures from the very first time she pressed and trimmed my hair all the way up to how it ended in order.
Stylists name: Erica. I truly try not to complain but there was so much that happened. I was let down. My appointment was scheduled at 9:30. She arrived at 9:42. There was no apology or even recognition about her being late. She didn’t really talk or introduce herself or try to make conversation the whole time. Yes I know this is not required, but it would’ve been nice and made me feel more welcome. I told her about my scalp condition and let her know I had a medicated shampoo that I brought with me. She told me it didn’t look bad and I didn’t need it this time even though I asked for it to be used. I was shocked. this is honestly when I should have left, but it was my birthday and I really wanted to get my hair done. I mentioned that I needed to get braids for my sons and I’ve been looking for a place to take them. She didn’t seem interested at all or even suggest another stylist in the shop. I was trying to discuss options for them and I was not provided with scheduling or pricing information . She stuck me under the dryer and then left the shop for about a half an hour to go to the laundromat. The dryer went off and I was sitting in the chair, waiting for about 15 minutes for her to get back. She also BURNED my left ear while flat ironing my hair. I showed her a picture of the style that I wanted. The style that she gave me was completely different. The requested style had lots of layers up front and on the side and it was a shorter cut. She did a simple bob cut and handed me the mirror saying she was done. At that point, I felt like she just wanted me out her chair and I was so over it. I said ok, paid and left. Get home and my hair cut wasn’t even. There’s a couple pieces that are longer than the other. Happy Birthday to me 🤦🏽♀️ I will add that the salon was painted and decorated well. Although there were several things I didn’t like, the stylist still provided a service to me and I appreciate the time she took to do so.
