Editing to add that I am expecting my first child and continuing to come to The Shed throughout my pregnancy so far has been a great experience. Jane offers very helpful movement modifications to ensure proper core engagement and a comfortable class from start to finish. I am brand new to Pilates and come from a CrossFit/high intensity workout background so I was skeptical if Pilates would measure up to such a workout. It is all of that and more and The Shed has made me feel so comfortable from day one. Phebe is awesome and always teaches a challenging class. I love that I leave feeling both more mobile and stronger. Small class caps allow for individualized attention and a great community during class.
The Shed is hands down the best Pilates studio in town! The space is absolutely beautiful and so inviting. Phebe is an incredible instructor—knowledgeable, motivating, and so attentive to form. I’m so grateful I found The Shed! The classes are outstanding, and the instructors are highly skilled and incredibly supportive. The studio’s space is beautiful and filled with high-quality equipment, which makes every session a joy. I especially appreciate the excellent hands-on adjustments during class. While the classes are challenging, I always leave feeling restored. Plus, the vast library of online classes is a great option for days when I can’t make it in person. It’s a warm, welcoming place that I highly recommend to anyone looking for a great mat Pilates, reformer pilates and yoga experience.
I feel so fortunate to have the Shed in Richmond. I have worked with Jane for almost 4 years and through two pregnancies. Classes are kept small (love the hands on assists) and all levels are welcome and supported. The magic of the original Shed has been brought to life in the new space on Lafayette and classes feel more challenging than ever. Choreography is innovative and always different whether on the mat or reformer, plus the music is 10/10. Phebe and Elizabeth are equally talented and have only added to Jane's original concept.
