Beautiful experience! I could find amazing teachers, everyone is so welcoming and amazing! I love my contemporary with Alli and my classic ballet with Lauren. I was able to find teachers that resonate with my way of dancing as well, and am excited to try new classes soon. The space is huge and the class is a comfort to my heart. Every time is special. Teachers mentioned are passionate and so talented! Inspire me a lot, I also love to see other dancers from the studio on instagram, everyone is perfectly talented and welcoming. ❤️🥹🤏🏻
My friends and I have been taking several dance classes at this studio from time to time; so I am actually providing not just my own but also the reviews on behalf of a few folks. Overall, we love this place! Start with the location: very convenient in downtown Toronto with restaurants, coffee shops, and grocery shopping options around, and close to bus and subway stops. They have different levels and genres of dance like beginner to advanced and classical to street. You can switch between levels and classes with different instructors. Many instructors are pretty chill and always encourage us to be the best of ourselves without worrying about competing against each other. Some instructors are really good dancers but may not be the best to teach a beginner level; and that’s okay cuz you have plenty of options here as mentioned above. I noticed that some ppl may have an issue with being filmed towards the end of the class. I would recommend just being vocal about it. Let the instructor or the staff member know that you don’t wanna be recorded and you can skip that round of dance when they are doing it. Keep up the good work and we are looking for more class options at the new year :-)
I absolutely love this place. I started taking classes here just over a month ago, and it has quickly become my second home. The staff and teachers are all amazing and so welcoming. I’ve wanted to take hip hop classes for years, and the offerings here are incredible. The fundamentals classes are one of my favorite parts — they really drill in the basic movements, which makes a huge difference when taking choreography-based classes. I also tried a private lesson with Kieth after taking a bunch of group classes to really hone in on my technique, and I got exactly what I needed from it. He is an amazing dancer, teacher, and person. I can’t recommend The Underground Dance Centre enough!
I’ve been taking classes at UDG for a few months and it’s one of my favourite dance studios to date. The facilities are always well taken care of and all the staff and instructors are always friendly! There was one instance where I arrived at a class and the instructor did not show up. However, the UDG staff informed us as soon as they knew that our instructor was not able to be at that class. We were also returned the credit for that class and given an additional credit for a future class. Honestly, truly one of the best customer service I’ve seen anywhere. I highly recommend UDG to anyone looking for a studio in the GTA!
I began with the trial Class, unsure of what to expect, but Angel’s teaching truly resonated with me. It made me feel both challenged and supported in the best way. I am grateful to have continued her classes consistently for over a month now. The atmosphere at the studio is very welcoming, and I truly appreciate the help received from the front desk team and Customer Experience Manager Shelby. Thank you, UDC TEAM, for creating such a positive experience.
