This is truly one of my favorite places on earth. Ironically, To Hell and Back is my version of heaven. It's where I go when I want to celebrate something, cheer myself up and basically any other mood because it's my default go-to stop. This store is a freaking treasure trove for dedicated vintage addicts, and it's also approachable for people who are just dipping their toes into this world. Aesthetically, if you love lived-in pieces with stories to tell, this is where you need to be. Andrea and Nate, the owners and curators, are also some of the kindest and most down-to-earth individuals I have ever met. They are happy to chat with you about the vintage pieces they offer, local events and other small businesses they recommend. I like to dedicate at least an hour or so to looking around because there's a lot to find, from antique drawers full of buttons and bandanas, to piles of denim in endless fits and washes. And let's be honest, I often spend way more than an hour here, and I love every minute of it. To Hell and Back is a Milwaukee gem. My shopping buddy, Olly, says he wishes he could give this place 6 stars! Thank you Andrea and Nate for sharing your passion with this city! :)
