I recommend TSA to advance your skills. I have taken several drawing and painting classes. I like the accessible location and bright spaces to work in. I especially like the classes by Brian Harvey, who specializes in urban scenes.

I’ve had the most lovely experience taking the beginner ceramics course with Natalie. I’ve done 3 semesters already and am signed up for a 4th this fall! Each cohort has been a different mix of people and levels of experience, and it’s great to see what other people do too.

I signed up for a ceramics course at TSA, excited to try something new. Unfortunately, I didn't realize the class I chose required prior experience, and as a beginner, I felt completely out of place. While that part was on me, I was hoping for a bit more guidance or understanding from the instructor. Instead, I felt dismissed and unsupported throughout the session. I contacted the school the same day to explain what happened and ask about switching to a more beginner-friendly class. They processed a refund right away, but the overall communication felt impersonal. It left me disappointed, and unsure if I’d take another class here in the future.

I have taken multiple classes here, my favourites being the Life Drawing course taught by Thomas Hendry and Painting Foundations by Brian Harvey. The instructors are amazing artists and great at teaching and providing feedback, while allowing students to maintain their own voice in art. The studios are spacious, equipped and quiet. I highly recommend TSA to any one looking to deepen their skills in art.
