Cant fault the equipment it is amazing for the price. However I thought I was the only one that noticed the smell at times. It literally smells of sewage. Also the people are not very friendly, they leave their property like bags and phones on top of machines that they are not using and then get annoyed when you politely ask them to remove. The music is played way too loud I feel like im going deaf.
£10 for a day pass (and no local address needed if you get it in person) and they have everything you could need. I didn’t have a single machine or setup on my list that I couldn’t find. They also have a counter for protein shakes etc. The woman at the front gave a full tour of two floors full of machines and free weights, intuitively arranged. (Other than her though, this struck me as an overwhelmingly male spot. No exaggeration it was probably 95% dudes in all black and grey the admittedly one time I went. But hey it’s a vibe.)
I’ve gone here on and off over the years as the equipment is quite good and the gym users are generally just focused on their workout. The staff are nice. The airflow is quite good also as there’s lots of windows to open. I have been approached now and then but I’m left alone once declined. There’s some tick-tock people but they haven’t caused me any issues as everyone just does their own thing. They used to have a rooftop area you could workout on which was really nice in summer, but this seems to not be used now. The cleanliness varies as some staff are really on it and other staff aren’t. Additionally there’s a longstanding issue with that women’s drainage in the bathrooms from the showers making it smell in the changing room. Also for whatever reason the women’s toilets are often not flushed. So I have been greeted by 💩 a few times which is always lovely.
Top class gym with a really good city centre location 10 minutes walk from central station, fair price for a casual gym session £10, I’ve seen several videos about this gym on YouTube so been looking to go for a while, I’ve watched a couple videos with @si_fan reviewing gyms and podcasts and really enjoyed them. I liked the natural lighting from outside which it’s a while since I’ve trained in a gym with natural lighting, top class equipment from hammer strength, cybex, Atlantis, preçor prime to name a few, downstairs section cardio, chest, shoulders, arms really good arm equipment, cable machines and free weights, upstairs there was leg and back section. Excellent gym didn’t disappoint would highly recommend.
Very decent gym, especially for a £7.50 day pass! Has everything you need, multiple squat racks, platforms, good amount of dumbbells, barbells and benches. Don’t be fooled when you first walk in, there’s a load more stuff upstairs (which I didn’t realise until after my workout 🙄). Definitely a good enough gym for when you’re staying for a few days and very easy process, just pay for a day pass and go, no faffing around
