0 stars is not available so had to choose the lowest- 1. TLDR: not an honest company. I am a first time user of this computer store. I droved my HP G71 off to UpTech to fix the charging port on March 20th. I just bought a new battery the day before. The new battery powered up my computer but I did notice that the available power was diminishing and the computer was not charging the battery properly. I drove over to Up Tech on Mt. Moriah, Memphis Tn. presented my computer to an Asian woman who wrote down all the information on the back of the computer and told me there would be a $42.50 diagnostic fee and that they would take the amount off of the repair fee when I came to pick my computer up! Well...... 4 Days went by and they called to let me know that my computer was "too old" to fix and that I could come and pick it up. When I got there, I said so I paid $42.50 so you could tell me my computer was "too old" to fix and you probably could not get parts.......really.....usually I get dinner, date and a movie before I get screwed out of my money. ****Steer clear of these people.**** I believe in honesty and I do not think I was treated honestly. Most in the computer business know that parts for most any machine are available. My computer worked when I dropped it off and I was able to go outline to ebay or wherever I wanted to go and I just needed the charging port fixed. I know for a fact that parts are available online at egghead. They did not know how to fix the machine or just did not want to fool with it or maybe just wanted the quick fee and send me out of the store. I think they prefer the "quick turnover" off fixing a virus or something to that effect. Save your money and perhaps your machine or just throw your money out of the window. Instead of Up Tech it should a been calle "Up Yours." These folks are not the answer and just part of the problem. I should have went to a reputable place and read "the search assist" on my wife's computer which lays it all out before I went there so that is on me. I definitely learned to do my research from now on. -D
