Receptionist was friendly and helpful. Dr. Stephen was cautious and kind. Willing to co-author solution with fantastic bedside manner. I feel lucky that I got him that day as I can imagine the normal ego consumed or a more easily dismissive doctor would have turned me away to a “dermatologist” despite not being able to afford more authentic insurance. As a result, a reoccurring issue has not only gone away, but has healed as though it was never there to begin with. For 3+ years this thing on my chin resembled a small mole and I always had to be concerned about it. Now? Now it’s looks like it was a figment of my imagination and I don’t have to think about it ever again. Thank you, Dr. Stephen for being patient forward and for helping me rid myself of a residual problem!!! I hope you enjoyed the holidays! I am grateful, Shelley
Kudos and 10 stars to Ballard Urgent care and Dr D. Dudley. I arrived with a wound from a chain saw. It was only a flesh wound, but none the less my angst and adrenaline were very high. Process to check in was efficient and humane... they listened and spoke calmly. I was taken in for an assessment. Dr Dudley appeared and the wound was cleaned and evaluated. The doctor's calm and swift cleaning, observation and appraisal were reassuring. Not only were the treatment and followup instructions done with skill and acuman, Dr Dudley was gracious, respectful and supportive thanks to his sincere personage and gentle humor. Caring, efficient and very competent staff.
I had a good experience and was in, waiting, seen, and out the door in just over an hour. I looked online in the afternoon and made a “reservation” (but it’s not technically a reservation) and the soonest option was 430pm. I got a text at 4pm it changed to 5pm and arrived on the dot, waited 30 mins and was seen. The person who checked me in was kind and the nurse practitioner who saw me was great. People who work in the front were nice. I’m not sure whether the sign up ahead of time was helpful or not as I had to wait until after anyone who was already in the room (which makes sense). But I suppose it helps arriving at a strategic time when the wait will be relatively shorter than is typical for walk-in places? Conveniently located so it’s definitely be my go-to if needed.
My experience at UW Med Urgent Care in Ballard was the best urgent care experience I've had to date. The staff is friendly and the facility is clean and feels safe. I did not know about the get in line feature online but showed up at 8:00am on a Sunday and was seen immediately as I was the first patient there. The nurse and doctor were very kind. Dr. Polito handled my case with empathy and skill, and happily and patiently answered all of my questions. Additionally, there was plenty of free parking in the lot behind the building, with spots reserved for UW Med. This positive experience during a stressful time meant a lot to me -- thank you!
TLDR: 10/10 would drive the Ballard bridge in an emergency situation again. Last week I embarrassingly sliced my finger open at work and, at the encouragement of my coworkers, reluctantly went to urgent care to see if I needed stitches. Now, UW Urgent Care was not the first I tried walking into, there was a zoom care closer to my job that I tried first. The woman at the counter said they couldn't take walk-ins that day and instead of recommending another Zoom Care she recommended UW urgent care and I'm so glad she did. Now I was crying, just super embarrassed because I didn't think I'd actually have to get stitches And I was worried the doctors and nurses would laugh at me for coming in with a "little cut" but they immediately validated me and reassured me that even if it didn't need stitches, I did the right thing by coming in to be sure. I only waited in the waiting room for no more than 10mins (midafternoon on a weekday) The nurses were so kind, made nice small talk to calm me down, and encouraged me to do the paperwork for workers comp. Doctor Dudley was also extremely kind and calm, told me that he did in fact recommend stitches for my cut. My first time getting stitches was calm and almost painless process thanks to his care. The person working the front desk was also kind and helpful!! Everyone I interacted with at this office are sweeties. Also, I'd like to think that Dr Dudley gave me blue stitches to match my nails and not because blue is the default stitch color, don't tell me otherwise please. And that's my review. ETA: ALSO, they used my preferred name. The person at the front desk asked when I gave them my email if that was the name I'd like to go by, I never ask Medical professionals to call me by anything other than my government name because I know it must be hard keeping up with anything that isn't on the paperwork. But they immediately switched to that name and that alone made me tear up more but happy tears this time :')
