Clean, safe and spacious gym filled with a variety of walls varying in grades and difficulty, and a designated bouldering area. All climbs require a certified belayer. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and passionate—Jude was especially a joy to work with! Encouraging environment suitable for all. Rental equipment is available if needed.
significantly worse energy among employees than the other 5.life gyms. climbing is for everyone!! i’m happy when i go climb, it never seems anyone is happy to be there that works there. i know a ton of climbers who would love to work there and be happy. when i last went there- there was no one able to certify me. if you’re gonna lead climb yall, just go to cincinnati or rrg
It’s a very good climbing gym. They use GriGris that are attached to the rope. The rental harnesses are actually decent Petzl brand ones. The shoes are regular Evolv gym shoes. The bathrooms are small. The lighting is good here and it has a good atmosphere feeling. The building interior and the climbing holds are clean. The route set rating on the boulders are on the softer side compared to Movement Santa Clara (CA). The route set rating on top rope matches Movement Sunnyvale (CA). Their route setting is good and fun. If I lived in Ohio I’d get a membership.
I first saw photos of Jarad's guided climbing experiences years ago, and was so excited to join him on a trip recently in Joshua Tree National Park. I've known Jarad Stiles since we attended high school near Lake Tahoe together. I was so impressed to see him turn his life long passion for climbing and exploration into an outlet for others to share in those outdoor experiences. Jarad has a gift for bringing people together, which has been a characteristic of his since we were younger, but it is remarkably demonstrated while guiding newcomers to the world of rock climbing. Myself and the others in our guide group were made to feel safe, confident, and stoked regardless of our previous experience or fitness level. He was very knowledgeable about the area we explored and encouraged us to take on different routes that would be the perfect level of challenge for each person. I had a ton of fun testing myself on the rock as well as learning about the gear, culture, lifestyle, and even geology that Jarad was well versed in. Truly a day I'll never forget. Please give yourself the opportunity to go play outside with Jarad and Vertical Adventures!
Great climbing gym! There's no shortage of routes for top roping and lead roping. Also a large bouldering wall. Routes are changed fairly frequently, but still give you enough time to project different routes. The staff is very helpful and friendly. Other members are also friendly and fun to talk to, and also helpful with sharing Beta when asked. There have been a couple times where I've seen staff crack down on people sliding there masks down to take a breather, which can be annoying. This is the first climbing gym I've bought a membership to, and as happy as I am to be a member, they did jack their prices up a good bit when they reopened after Covid which I found out after talking to my brother who had been a member for awhile. I'd like to see the rates go back down. That being said management has always been a breeze to deal with when needing to manage my account, and I think their new point reward system will be great. Overall a great gym. I regularly attend with my 16 year old daughter and we always have an absolute blast.
