Every single person that I came in contact with was amazing. We came in on New Years Eve pretty late with a severely injured goose(yes a pet goose). They triaged her immediately, got her pain meds on board and made us comfortable. We saw so many people coming and going, all with some kind of emergency, and even through heartache and happiness everyone was content. Everyone was taken care of. We were treated with such kindness and compassion. We had to let our Goosey go and that was even made easy and with such care. Thank you so much from my family & I. As hard as it was to let Goose go you made it bearable. She was a special girl
Let me just start by saying this is my third encounter with VEG and they have been wonderful every time. We had a few scares with our dog eating things that he shouldn’t and this day was no exception. I brought my 2 yo. Golden Retriever, Gus here a few days ago. I was sewing a button onto my son’s shirt and accidentally knocked the needle and thread onto the floor without initially realizing it. Of course, Gus being a golden retriever decided that it would be a delicious snack. I immediately called VEG, knowing that it would likely be dangerous to have him bring it back up. I called and spoke with Sarah on the phone (who was very kind) to let her know that I was coming. When I arrived, Jon checked us in. He was very friendly. Theresa and Hannah (nurses) immediately brought us back and spoke to us about how Gus was doing. They were kind, caring, compassionate, and prompt. They talked me through every procedure and encouraged me to be involved as much as I wanted to be. I did not have to leave his side the entire time he was there. I believe there was another nurse named Erica as well. She was very kind and knowledgeable, too. Dr. Schoonmaker was our vet that day. He clearly discussed options about what the safest course of treatment would be, along with a transparent estimate of potential costs. We decided to start with x-rays to see if the needle had left his stomach. Luckily, it hadn’t left his stomach yet, and they were able to retrieve it via endoscopy! It’s never fun to have to bring your pet in for something like this, but they made the experience as “enjoyable” as it could possibly be. I’ve never been in a more caring environment with my pets. I know it made my dog much more comfortable being able to be with me the entire time, too. I wouldn’t hesitate bringing him back here again. Thank you again for the compassionate care:) Gus was one lucky pup that day!
I usually don’t leave reviews but I just have to say what a great experience we had at Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) in Cincinnati. From the moment we walked in we were treated kindly and within 10 minutes we had answers for our 9 year old dog Gus. He had a ruptured tumor on his spleen and needed emergency surgery if there was any hope of survival. We were told up front there was a high chance the tumor was cancerous. If cancerous he would have 1 to 3 months to live after surgery or if benign he would be cured. Luckily we had Dr. Hart that night who was truly amazing. She was optimistic about the surgery and the odds for Gus. I couldn’t not give our dog the chance knowing that there was chance he’d be just fine so we decided to do the surgery. I’m so thankful for Dr. Hart and everyone at VEG and I’m happy to say we had the best outcome. The tumor was benign. Gus just had his follow up with our regular veterinarian. He’s healed up perfectly and ready to spend another Christmas with his family. If your pet needs a trip to the ER vet I highly recommend VEG.
I was able to stay in a private room with my dog as she received care over 48 Hours. She is dog reactive and would not have been able to get this care in other facilities. The staff was caring and helpful, even setting me up with an iPad for white noise so my dog could not be distracted by sounds so I could use my phone to watch videos during our long time together. A wonderful option for our needs
We're still grieving the loss of our beloved dog Momo, but we wanted to take a moment to express our deepest gratitude to the Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) for their exceptional care and compassion during our darkest hours. When Momo needed urgent attention in December 2024, VEG's prompt and professional team sprang into action, quickly assessing her condition and providing temporary life-saving treatment in their oxygen respiratory chamber. Although the outcome wasn't what we had hoped for, the VEG staff treated us with empathy, respect, and kindness throughout our 27+ hour stay. Allowing us to be by Momo's side was a small comfort in a difficult time, but it meant the world to us. Their dedication, expertise, and genuine care were evident in every interaction. We appreciate the transparency regarding costs and the support in applying for Care Credit. While no amount can undo the pain of losing Momo, knowing we did everything possible to save her brings some solace. VEG's professionalism and kindness made an unbearable situation slightly more bearable. If fate were to deal us another tough hand, we'd unhesitatingly choose VEG again. To the entire team, thank you for being with us in our time of need. You truly are angels in scrubs. 🐾❤️
