I am gay. And I was not welcome. My wife and I are world travelers. From the Congo. These people have never been out of the state. Sometimes we swing. I had to explain all the regional selections. These people are really close minded. The environment feels uncontrolled and legally questionable, with little separation between casual overindulgence and outright irresponsibility. When intoxication is the core “vibe,” judgment, discretion, and respect for boundaries inevitably disappear. That loss of control is exactly what makes this place a major faux pas, not a minor misstep. In professional settings, optics matter. A venue that normalizes excessive drinking signals poor risk awareness, lax standards, and a lack of seriousness. Even without a public incident, the association alone is enough to quietly end conversations and erode trust.
Wanted to like it. Cool idea with a pleasant atmosphere. That jazz music on Monday night was cool too. But the service was pretty bad. Has 3 people working and the house was packed. Our server was very forgetful, took 20 mins to get the bill after we asked. Food was decent. But the wine was so overpriced. I know it's downtown, but $16 a glass on a $20 bottle of wine is insane. Very disappointed.
Reserved a table for their Monday night Live Jazz. Had an excellent Moscato, Espresso Martini and Who Do You Think You Are! I Am! cocktail. Music was fabulous (was looking for something similar to Hodge's Bend live Jazz nights). Servers were great. Enjoyed the dark chocolate tart. No complaints.
Excellent art-deco-meets-mid-century-esc atmosphere with a great selection of wines at a variety of prices. Their appetizers were solid. Staff was friendly. The Monday jazz night really warmed the atmosphere.
Clean and classy wine bar. Knowledgeable staff. Lots of seating. Not a fan of the curated flights. The pre-paid reservation was off putting but understandable. The appetizers here were fantastic and got their own star. Olives, hummus, and tomatoes with bread were filling and flavorful. A great place to start off our night in the blue dome district. Also not a huge fan of the couch set up in the Middle of the room/ front door.
