Scheduling, front service staff and the work all went smoothly. The only issue I had was the I was not able to pick up my vehicle day of, and when I did it was covered in debris (pine straw, leaves, twigs/berries) and bird poop. It took my quite while to get it cleaned up in this cold weather

The best auto shop I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with! I’ve been a loyal customer for over 15 years, and their honesty, friendliness, and professionalism never cease to impress me. With the new management, they are only changing for the better! When my windshield wiper malfunctioned and scratched my front window, they went above and beyond to help me fix it quickly. When I needed an estimate to avoid the dealership’s inflated prices, they gave me a fair quote right over the phone—no hassle, no upselling. It’s rare to find a business that truly cares about its customers like this one does. I wish every small business operated with the same integrity and heart.
I honestly don't know if they fixed my problem but they absolutely listened to me when given the opportunity. I am decently aware of how to fix certain parts of cars. I came in with a crankshaft timing misalignment on bay 1 of my engine (Code P0016). After taking it to the Subaru dealership and leaving it for a week they hadn't even diagnosed the actual problem and charged me for a 150 dollar oil change which I had already previously done myself. After that did not fix the problem, I changed out the the VVT solenoid. This is 3-5 minutes of work and a $123 OEM part. The Subaru dealership wanted $750 to make this repair. They were scamming me, so I did it myself. After this also did not fix the issue, I did some deeper research and learned that bad VVT values are frequently permanently etched into the ECM on many Subaru's at about 70k miles. This can cause check engine lights related to timing misalignments. A new ECM could cost upwards of $1000. Fortunately, newer diagnostic tools can reset those values back to factory settings. This was the fix that I felt I needed and I came to Wasp to get it done because I don't have a $600 diagnostic tool and I had heard they would listen to customers. I let them know about my requested fix but for the first day they didn't really pay attention to what I had requested and didn't really do anything to address the problem. When I called to check in on my car, it was evident that they hadn't addressed the requested fix. That said, the front desk immediately put me in touch with someone who was knowledgable and talked out the issue with me. Within a couple of hours, they did this admittedly unique fix after I emailed them a video and took my request seriously. As of now, my check engine light is clear and it cost me $150 in diagnostic fees rather than the $1000 plus it might have cost me otherwise. It may come back on but so far so good. Thank you to Carl Eng and Wasp Auto Shop for listening to my concerns. If you have a 2015-2019 Subaru, please consider this fix if you have any issues with Variable Valve Timing and Crankshaft timing issues but aren't seeing any mechanical problems with your car (loss of power, cutting out etc.). This is a known problem with Subarus and I'm shocked that Subaru hasn't addressed it. I'd recommend doing this before going down the path of unneccesarily replacing expensive parts.
I used to go to WASP for all my auto needs while I worked in RTP. A few years ago I retired and I started going to a shop closer to me (Konrad Automotive), but they have since closed up shop. I went back to WASP for the first time in about 5 years and had a great experience. As some have noted, they're under new management. They have a nice setup now with two counters in an L-shape that takes up part of the old sitting area. And.....wait for it....they're computerized now!!!! lol Never thought I'd see that day. I brought my car in to have the front end looked at due to unusual wear on the front tires. I wanted that done before I bought new tires to make sure it was not caused by something other than a needed wheel alignment. The tech put it up on the rack and checked everything out for $53! Can't beat that. He noted the unusual wear was probably due to my not being told to get an alignment a few years ago when the lower control arms and ball joints were replaced. Can't say enough about this place, the techs, and the front desk people. All are super nice. Definitely positive changes going on (not that there was anything wrong before, but the computers and getting texts/emails about your appointments is a big plus!).

Honest, professional auto care you can trust for over 15 years.
