The cat desensitization training and general obedience at home has been excellent after West Tennessee K9 worked with him. Atlas went for both the puppy and adult week long board and train sessions. He is a high energy German shepherd with a strong prey drive, and to see him co exist with the cats has been wonderful. The report card updates and pictures are appreciated for anxious puppy parents. We will definitely be taking advantage of their programs in the future.
10000/10 recommend!! My German shepherd used to lunge at every animal, bark at every person, stressful vet visits, stressful walks.. I wanted a better quality of life for the both of us. WTNK-9 boarded & trained him for 2 weeks, then he has been in structured daycare every month x3 weekly. Emily & the team has changed our lives. Emily was very communicative, responsive and transparent throughout his training. My dog makes you earn his trust, and Emily earned it very quick! He loves her so much, she’s literally like family. Seeing him light up when he sees her is confirmation he is in safe hands. He now plays with other dogs, walks at my heel- no pulling or lunging, not barking at everybody, and can finally calmly be around other dogs. Our ultimate test was a vet visit and we just had a PEACEFUL, SUCCESSFUL VISIT 🥹👏🏽🙌🏽 every time I see his new behavior I just want to cry happy tears. We went to petsmart, see the photos of how good of a boy he was. We go in public so much more, strangers approach him & rub him w/o him barking, weve gone to UPS, Shelby farms, farmers markets… he is SO GOOD now. This is so important to me because in Texas another trainer said “this is just who he is, he’ll never be able to play with dogs and I’m not comfortable bringing him around other dogs” so I really had given up hope on him since he’s 7 yo. And we were just going to continue this stressful life together… until Marcus and his wife recommended this place with flying colors. If you’re seeking quality training, you are in the right place! It is worth every penny
Our 4 year-old Golden friend, Cash, was born in August of 2020. A true pandemic pup, he grew up in a loving home but without the face-to-face contacts with other people and dogs he needed. We worked hard to socialize him. Although he’s great with people, he has continued to be very awkward and reactive with other dogs. Also not good on his own when we try to leave him. He is never destructive but barks excessively. That’s why we approached West TN K9 for additional training. Cash just finished a 2 week board/train and we could not be happier or more encouraged about continuing to build on his work at WTK9. It was a good experience from start to finish. My initial contact with Taylor helped me understand what our options were and what the goal of the training would be. Guru Terry’s videos and the written guidelines we got were all spot on. Trainer Emily’s communications up front and her daily photo or video clip and report cards during Cash’s training were so helpful in understanding what he was capable of and how he was learning it. Her Go Home session was perfect for us to overcome our nervousness and feel more confident about continuing the training at our kids’ home in Memphis and then in our home in an Airstream trailer on the road full time. My husband, Steve, and I both feel like West TN K9 is a great value, and we thank them all for helping us and our Cash to become a better family for one another.
We booked our dog, Batty, for a two week board and train in July and it's worth every penny! Batty is a rambunctious one year old pup but this training has gotten him on the right track. He can have a rough play style and didn't always take corrections from my older male dog, causing stress for all the dogs in the house. They've learned to coexist while respecting each other's space and we now have four peaceful pups. Highly recommend!
I took my 5month old GSD mix puppy for a 4 day board and train and I LOVED it! Each day I received a report card with pictures (attached) on how she was doing and what they learned and when I came to get her, they showed me how they worked with her and how I can continue building on what she learned with follow up sessions available! I’m looking to continue her training with them and will be bringing my pitbull to them too. Couldn’t recommend them enough!
