Overall a nice hotel to stay in. Firsy the bad. Sketchy Garage across the street is the only real parking The lounge is really weird. But I forgot I was in the states. The lounge unlike every single other one outside the country did not have complimentary liquor. It is on the 15th floor, in what appears a converted suite. Food was good though. I was not the only one with my thoughts about the lounge. I talked to other travelers who also thought it was odd and a disappointment. The immediate location is somewhat sketchy, but plenty of security around. Other than that.. Staff was great, especially since we brought our puppy. We got upgraded to a 1 bedroom suite which we appreciate. The bed is comfy. We were thrilled about the microwave and fridge being in the room, a rarity these days. The heating system worked well, plenty of plugs, and plenty of speed on Wi-Fi. They had a super cool (extra cost) rock climbing gym, though the regular free one is inside of that and it's really small, and not good. But overall a plus given the rock climbing option. If I ever found myself in Reno again (probably never) we would return to this hotel if we needed to stay in the city.
I stayed there for fireworks , check in was smooth , and an agent was very courteous and friendly. she selected nice room for me. the room was good as I expected , and able to see night view it was gorgeous. A restaurant employees were also friendly. I had spinach omelette it was good quality like a homemade. I had to one star down because during the stay my room was really cold. thermometer Display as room temperature was 75. it took whole day to get warm it up little bit . but at night whole night through was cold and I kept waking up. I can tell air circulation but poor heats coming out from heater. looks like it's centural heater even the room had own thermometer. or it was just my room. before I get to Reno I stayed at San Francisco Hilton but I didn't have that problem, room got warm quickly and it was comfortable. and TV was hard to control to watch TV programs using remote control. I just pressed the ok button to select tv but annoying ad keep popping up. i had turn TV off peacefully and the nice to have small refrigerator but whole night it was Ghostly whistling.
I’ve stated to Whitney Peak multiple times I have to say my latest experience was overwhelming like always you greeted at the front door by the ballet man holding the door open your escorted to the front counter, where the staff is on top of everything and get you into your room right away as you get up into the rooms, the elevator is the hallways are clean and on point walking into the room, refreshing, beautiful, clean Precisely decorated I walked down to the lounge and was greeted by the staff. They make a point of knowing you by name. Pour me a drink, poured me the direction of A nicely set up trays of hors d’oeuvres and snacks. Later, I walked down to the restaurant was seated quickly and was waited on professionally as I watched the people at staff moving. I noticed the GM Ramon was busting tables carrying food out, taking orders and entering questions mind you this is on New Year’s Eve when he could’ve called somebody else in he chose to stay and work and not ruined somebody else’s holiday. The The steak and shrimp on the menu were the best I’ve ever had.! The staff was on point. The food is on point. The hotel was on point Ramon and his staff should Receive a five star rating every day those doors are open. I applaud them and I applaud Ramon for creating such an incredible environment in downtown Reno by far the best hotel in reno!!
If you like to work out early or late, this may not be the place for you. Rooms were ok but aging, I wouldn't walk around at night outside. There was a rockwall gym (which is cool) and regular gym but they are connected and only open from 8am - 10:30pm so you have to plan - especially if you're traveling for work. Staff was nice. Restaurant was good but pricey. I'm unlikely to stay there again.
Overall I’m happy with this hotel. I’ve been on a 2 week 12 state road trip staying exclusively in Hilton properties; Home2suites & Hampton Inn. Decided to spoil ourselves in Reno with this hotel. The Room- we were on the 16th floor corner suite overlooking Virginia street. Amazing room decor and views. WOW. Generous spaces. Loved the robes and slippers. I was surprised that with such a room the coffee service only provided packages of powdered creamer. Absolutely Gross. The other Hilton properties I stayed in provided containers of half&half. The heating system is crazy. Never shuts off and loud. Hard to regulate. Thank goodness the windows cracked open for fresh cool air. Check-in - the staff, including valet were great, but extremely overwhelmed. No direction of any type and a large amount of people trying to check in. It was a circus. Location - loved being downtown, away from the major casinos. A quiet escape. Overall, I would stay here again. Staff were great. Loved loved loved the room. Room service would be nice and a better coffee service is a must. Why put a Kurig in the room with crappy condiments. And fix the aircon/heating system. That’s mentioned in a lot of reviews.
