UPDATE: Within about 32 hours of this grooming appointment, my puppy developed severe diarrhea. For the first 24 hours he couldn’t hold his potty at all, which has never been an issue before, and couldn’t even make it outside. Poop all over the hallway at my apartments. I can’t say for certain whether this was caused by stress or something he was given during grooming, but the timing is extremely concerning — especially since there was blood in his stool. This created additional stress and financial burden on top of an already upsetting experience. At this point, I would strongly advise others to think twice before bringing their pet here. ____________________________________________ I’m only just now calm enough to write this. Believe the bad reviews! I was very clear, more than once, that I did not want my puppy’s coat cut short. I specifically said I wanted to keep his shaggy, fluffy look. I repeated this multiple times, and I even stopped the grooming during the appointment to make sure the groomer understood exactly what I wanted. Despite that, my puppy was brought out with a full buzz cut and also messed up that too! They are matures and won’t take accountability at all. I was completely shocked. When I said something, the groomer told me, “This is what you asked for,” which I honestly still cannot understand given how clear I was. For the record, my puppy did not have any matting. This was not a situation where shaving was necessary. This was them making a decision for me and ignoring my instructions without contacting me first. I genuinely wouldn’t have recognized my own puppy when he came out if he hadn’t run straight to me. I left the store in literal tears, and later found myself crying at my desk at work trying to process it all. If there were any concerns at all, I should have been contacted before such an extreme decision was made. That basic communication and respect just wasn’t there. Because of this experience, I will never return here. I strongly caution anyone who is particular about their dog’s coat or expects their wishes to be followed.
DISGUSTING GROOMING!!! What did they even do to my dog?! It feels like they just shaved him with a beard trimmer 🪒🪒🪒 Fine, even if they shaved him — they could have done it neatly and evenly, but instead he has bald patches in some places and fur almost down to the floor in others. And the tail was left completely untouched, they didn’t do anything with it at all! And for this — $120? (I could have done exactly the same thing at home, but for free.) On top of that, the fur around the eyes was left as is, and we had to trim it ourselves at home because the dog couldn’t see and it was causing huge discomfort. I’ll repeat again: for $120, at that price I should forget about my dog’s fur for at least two weeks. Instead, every day I have to brush the tail, while the fur on his body is insanely short, and right after the grooming I had to trim the hair around his eyes. Also, the inner part of the paws and legs was not shaved, and it looks like he has overgrown hair in his armpits and groin 🙊 The sanitary (intimate) hygiene was also not done the way we asked (too long). The face was done not the way I showed the groomer. It feels like the groomer was cutting for the first time. Even if that’s the case, just say it in advance, instead of making people regret it after the grooming. Conclusion: I had to finish the groomer’s work myself — trim the tail, the area around the eyes, and the inner thighs. None of our wishes were taken into account!!! The only plus is that my dog smelled insanely good from the shampoo. In the end, I paid $120 for a dog slightly bigger than a small breed, and I truly think this is way too high a price just for my dog to smell nice. I was disappointed and I will not come back there again. The only reason to come back would be to grab a treat for my dog. As for the bakery — there really is a huge selection of everything, and my dog likes it, as well as many other items. It’s worth visiting only for the bakery. Another plus is the very nicely scented shampoos. But none of this fixes the grooming of my dog, and I’ll have to wait for this horror to grow out 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️ Oh, and they also don't make giant ears for such a price, the master himself told us to do everything at home! 🤨😔
First time at woof gang and Tanner did such a great job! Our one year old pup Princes Yue is challenging to say the least - she’s anxious getting groomed and can be very vocal and squirmy….especially when trying to trim her nails. Tanner and team did a great job at addressing all my concerns to their best capabilities while also not pushing her too much. They were able to bathe her, trim most of her nails, brush/ trim her fur in and in a short time frame. You can tell that they really care and are honest. I will definitely be a regular client.
I have to say I think we found our new grooming spot! They were so good with our cockapoo. She normally hates the blowdryer but Jason was patient and great with her! He was also so fast! Way less time than other places we’ve experienced. The sales associate was also so helpful answering all my questions and helping me find a treat for my dog after her appointment. I’d recommend this place to anyone!
We took our 7-month-old pup to a few different groomers, but since he’s still a baby and full of energy, most had a hard time with him. I’m so glad we found Woofgang Capitol Hill and met Jason, who groomed our pup. He’s amazing—professional, friendly, and so patient. The owner and staff are just as wonderful, and the place is always clean and welcoming. They also have a great selection of healthy chews and treats for our furry friends. Truly a great spot for all your dog’s grooming needs. Highly recommend!
