Fantastic barbers. Been going here for more than 10 years now. Mo and Jambo are both extremely friendly and would go above and beyond for you. If Mo is able to help you with anything outside of the barbers, he would go out of his way to do so, which he has for me at times! I've always had a haircut and hot towel shave and been pleased with the results every time. Their haircuts are very cheap considering other establishments prices. I'd highly recommend!
Nah. I ask for something he says yes but ends up doing what he likes. And it’s not even good. My curly hair is ruined. Looking at the 5 star review I thought the place is good but realised the standards for haircut are too low here. Sorry.
I got my haircut here back in July 2024 but didn’t really feel comfortable sharing my experience for fear of reprisals, but I think it’s important that I do. The fella here gave me a good haircut, and was telling me all about how he came here from Ethiopia for a better life, which was really nice to hear about. It then took a dark turn however when he even went on a homophobic rant about how he now wants to leave Northern Ireland and move to a different country because ‘schools here are now teaching that being gay is okay and he can’t have his kids growing up in a country like they because it’s wrong and against Islam’ As a gay man, sat in a chair alone in a barber shop with a homophobic guy with a pair of scissors by my neck, I can’t tell you how terrifying of an experience it was. It clouded/tainted what was otherwise a wonderful 3 months living in Belfast, until that point I’d found Belfast a pretty welcoming and inclusive place, but this showed me that the city isn’t as progressive as some of its residents make out that it is. There were plenty of other good barbers in the city that don’t come with a side of bigotry. I’d advise anyone who’s a decent human being to boycott this place and its homophobic/conservative hatred.
Called up this morning and Mo was fully booked but left me on the callback list, and was able to fit me in later that day for a speedy cut and beard trim after going a bit wild-man for a month or so; very friendly and unbelievably cheap, so I'll have to make it up to them with repeat visits!
I wanted to try a new barbers and read the great reviews of this place. I called on Friday to check if they were free the following day. They were fully booked but said they’d call me back if their 4pm appointment cancelled. I was able to come back at 4 the next day. It was clear from how they got on with their customers that they had a lot of regulars who really liked them and I can see why. They were really friendly, the haircut was great, they fit me in at short notice and the price was really reasonable. I’ll be back!
