I attended the TRE class with Nanci Nardona. She made me feel very comfortable at the start of the class by explaining what was to be expected and being very clear on how to perform each exercise. I left the class feeling very relaxed and am looking forward to the next one!
I've just had my first class at Almaden Yoga. I found a class and signed up online without issues, found the staff super friendly, a clean and presentable facility, with water and all the yoga supplies ready to use. The class with Ron was challenging, and after just one visit, I plan to work classes here into my regular fitness routine.
I've attended several classes at this place, so I wanted to share my thoughts and experiences regarding the studio. Firstly, the studio is conveniently located and has a good atmosphere. The instructors, such as Janine, Shauna, and Maria, are excellent. The majority of the participants tend to be older, and most of the classes are geared towards beginners. However, I did have an uncomfortable experience with one instructor, Vrusali. She seemed to have an unfounded dislike for me, and along with a new instructor of Asian descent, often took classes with me gave me unfriendly looks without ever greeting or acknowledging me many times. This behavior wasn't what I anticipated from the Yoga studio, and it felt at odds with the principles of yoga. As a result, I decided to stop attending classes there. I still don't understand what might have caused this since we never actually interacted. I’m not a beginner, maybe my practice that was meant for my growth has irritated her.
After checking out a few studios in the area, Almaden Yoga really takes the win for me. All of their instructors are fantastic and they have a really wide range of class offerings. I have felt very welcomed by everyone there and always look forward to attending a class. A special shout out to Jen - I particularly love her music choice, flow, and energy she brings to class.
I was invited to attend a session in June 2024 by Ron, while I was in town for a mutual Arizona State University (ASU) alumni event, and I was so glad I attended. Almaden Yoga is hidden inside the 'mall' with no big signs outside, but it is a gem! The class I took included a friendly group of participants with a mixture of experience (I was the least experienced, only have done yoga once or twice before, in my life), and yet it was a welcoming, all around very positive experience. I clearly need to practice my yoga skills, and I believe I would benefit from more Yoga; and I would gladly practice here at Almaden Yoga if I lived closer. I encourage everyone to visit and take a class ... even if you're only in town for a day, like I was.
