My high-schooler has been going to the Art School of SF Bay in Mountain View for a couple of years now, and has taken portrait and figure workshops with live models, animation and advanced studio classes. The work she's done with her instructors there have really contributed to her growth as an artist. There's so many offerings. My only regret is not starting her there sooner!!!! March 2026 edit: My daughter has been accepted to top-ranked animation programs including CalArts, Ringling College of Art and Design, RISD and more. Her studies at Art School of SF Bay have been invaluable to her growth and getting into these schools! I cannot than Maria and Svetlana enough!

I've taken two adult classes - Key Elements of Fine Arts & Watercolor 101, both with Masha -- and have loved it. Masha is a great instructor. During each class, a new concept is introduced with a light overview and the rest of the session is dedicated to hands-on application. I had so much fun exploring different "styles" of watercolor -- from painting scenic seasides to cats to realistic portraits.

The adult oil painting class with Maria Z is fantastic. I hadn’t painted in decades and was a bit nervous to use that muscle again, but the class is structured in such a way that it starts with the basics and accelerates at a steady pace. I learned new techniques and Maria gently pushed us to do our best work in each class. By the end of the session I had completed 4 paintings, one of which is hanging on my wall at home - something I never thought would happen. As a mom of 2 I cherished the time to lose myself in painting once a week and appreciated the daytime hours so I could attend while my kids were in school. I’ll definitely be signing up for another class soon!

I took several adult courses in the school, all (except the first one) with Masha. She is a great teacher, and I had a lot of fun drawing and painting. Watercolor 101 in particular let me discover the fun of unpredictability in art.

I joined watercolour 101 course at Mountain View centre and it was a very good learning experience. Each class had its own significance and added some value to my skill. My instructor was Masha and she literally helped me with every question I had. In fact, sometimes when I wasn’t able to justify my imagination with the paintings, she used to help me do that.
