I had the opportunity to drop in at Bendu Academy while I was in Cincinnati, and it was a great experience overall. Blayne instructed Both classes I was able to attend. The Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu class was on the smaller side that day, but that actually worked in its favor. The instruction had a strong focus on reinforcing fundamentals and understanding the reactions you should expect from your opponent. We worked through sweeps from half guard, and the instruction emphasized not just the movement itself but how to recognize and deal with common counters and reactions. It felt very methodical and detail-oriented, which is exactly what good foundational training should be. The Muay Thai class was very structured and clearly taught. The room had a good mix of experience levels, and the instruction was organized in a way that allowed everyone to work at their level while still staying engaged with the class flow. One thing that really stood out was the environment of the academy. The gym was clean, the space was well kept, and everyone there was extremely welcoming. The culture felt positive and supportive, which says a lot about the leadership and the people who train there. Overall, Bendu Academy left a strong impression. Solid instruction, good structure, and a very welcoming atmosphere.

Head coach and group was very welcoming and friendly. Coaches were very knowledgeable but also ok with questions or thoughts on techniques every so often. Overall had a great time with the group, as a whole, and learned a bunch from everyone. Would highly recommend.

Our kids just started last week. The staff is really friendly, & very helpful. They do amazing one on the one with the kids and install amazing discipline in them. Looked at many other gym and was told Bendu was the one to join. All I can say is everyone was right.
