Had a fantastic time with Rashida. She was warm bright and a great teacher. Was lucky enough to be the only participant, so I got all the attention. Haha. She took her time and had no problem going back so I could fully grasp the sewing basics. Was nervous but her encouragement and enthusiasm quickly helped me get more comfortable. If you’re considering joining one of her classes don’t hesitate it’s totally worth it!

She never disappoints!!I needed my bridesmaid dress altered for a wedding I was in. I’m no expert, but I knew that hemming my dress takes a lot of time, but more importantly, skill. I went straight to Brick City Stitch because I knew Rashidah had the skills to make this happen! Being quite short, there was quite a bit of material that needed to be altered. My dress also had horse hair at the bottom with very fine stitching. I didn’t give Rashidah much time, but she diligently worked to meet my deadline. When I tried on my dress, the length was perfect! I absolutely loved how the dress fit me overall. She even attached plastic guards on the straps of my dress so that they would not fall off my shoulders! I appreciated how she handled my dress with care.

Brick City Stitch is such a gem. Rashidah Nelson is patient, highly skilled, and has a way of teaching that feels both empowering and fun. The studio is quaint but roomy, the vibe is calm and creative, and the class moved at a perfect pace. I walked out with new skills and a finished project I’m excited about. If you’re curious about sewing or looking for a creative space that’s also community-centered, this is the spot.

It was great laughter felt extremely comfortable everyone there had such a great time even made new friends!!! The owner so sweet, explained everything clearly to the point that I even made something that look like it’s worth buying; Her energy and her vibes was so energetic and warm I would definitely do it again. Definitely recommend!!! …⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I added five more stars myself because this place needed 10 stars instead of five
