However, it’s worth noting that there was a slightly off-putting smell at the front entrance, which detracted from the otherwise pleasant ambiance. It’s unclear whether this odor stemmed from inside or outside, but it is something that the management might want to investigate. The menu is impressively extensive, featuring a delightful array of goodies that range from crepes to cinna-cakes. I opted for the avocado toast with scrambled eggs on the side, as well as the cinna-cakes pancakes, accompanied by an espresso. The espresso was well-prepared, though I felt the large plate it was served on didn’t quite match the dainty look of the espresso itself. In terms of flavor, it was decent but fell short of expectations, earning a score of 3/5. The taste leaned towards that of an Americano, lacking the rich depth one typically desires from a good espresso. It was unfortunate that there was no brown sugar available to enhance the drink. The cleanliness of the utensils was commendable, and the waitress was not only polite but also exuded professionalism, adding to the overall positive experience. Moving onto the cinna-cakes, while the presentation was less appealing compared to the enticing photo on the menu, the flavor was notably better, garnering a strong 4/5. The sweetness was a tad overwhelming, and a better balance could elevate this dish to a solid 5/5. As for the avocado toast, it was rather unremarkable, rating a 3/5. Although the bread had a pleasant taste as soon as it touched my palate, it was dry and had a slightly burnt texture. The scrambled eggs presented an interesting flavor profile — perhaps due to a unique spice or high-quality oil used in cooking. While they were plain in appearance, they packed a flavorful punch, earning a 4/5, though again, the presentation left something to be desired. I also ordered a matcha with a hint of vanilla, and much to my delight, it was served hot and was exceptionally well-balanced. On a positive note, the establishment offers military and veterans discounts and does not display any anti-2A signs, which could appeal to a broader audience. The prices were reasonable given the quality of the food and service. For any independent food critic or reviewer looking to enhance their offerings, I encourage you to reach out for more insights on improving staff training and overall customer experience. This place has potential and, with a few tweaks, could become a standout destination in the area.

9/20/25: car shopping is exhausting & I discovered makes me hungry. This particular Saturday we popped in BYC for the first time since we were in the area. Food? Good. Well seasoned & wonderfully browned hashbrowns, the Hollandaise on the benedicts tasted better than I've had before (at other places). If we return, I would probably try their lunch menu, just for a taste of something different. Service? Fine. It wasn't overly crowded and although it's been over a month since our visit, I don't remember anything negative about the service. Parking/Decor? Plenty of parking, they had some cool plant artwork on the walls, and the place was well laid out (they didn't try to cram too many tables in there).

This is a wonderful little café. Service is excellent & food is yummy. Sally helped us. She was lovely & you could tell that she's been doing this a while. She is very good. Will return.

Came here at Broken Yolk Cafe with some friends and we all had such a great experience. I ordered the Mom Omelet, and it was absolutely delicious—hearty, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. The portion was generous and definitely hit the spot. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the staff were friendly and attentive, making the whole visit even better. It’s a wonderful place to enjoy a satisfying breakfast, and I’ll definitely be coming back to try more dishes.

This place is a foodies dream. Love breakfast spots that have consistently beautiful dishes, with good service included. Just recently moved back from Kentucky and have already been here a few times. And can’t wait to go back. All dishes have been so good, and have been good sized portions that you can take home and eat later. My personal favorites are their south of the border options and my husband loves the sweet stuff. Have not had a bad bite of food here. Highly recommend.
