As a man of a certain age, a lifetime of commercial relationships has made me skeptical, if not cynical. It’s rare to come across a business that treats you like you’re already a longtime customer when it’s the first time you’ve walked through the door. That was my experience with Charles Schwartz. I needed service and repair of my precious-to-me watches. I don’t know much about watchmaking, but I do know when someone inspires confidence. I may not be a longtime customer now, but I will become one moving forward. These are people with integrity.

Few mid-Atlantic jewelers carry an inventory of Furrer Jacot rings which took me to the Charles Schwartz Chevy Chase store. While visiting there I asked for recommendations for jewelers who could repair a gold ring with lapis and onyx insets I own of great sentimental value. They said they could! I now have it back and it looks beautiful, expertly repaired at an extremely reasonable price. I will be back!

I've used Charles Schwartz twice now. The first time, they helped me with my mom's jewelry after she passed away. I felt that they provided me with good advice and a fair price. The second time, my teenage son was interested in a necklace. They ordered both silver and stainless necklaces for him to try. (They also resoldered the clasp on the necklace he had!) He walked out a happy customer. It's hard to know who to trust and I feel like Charles Schwartz earned mine.

I needed a special gift for my girlfriend. I’ve never purchased nice jewelry before, and a friend recommended I go to Charles Schwartz for good advice and a nice selection. I was a little nervous about being pressure sold, but David was great to work with. He was so friendly, and the atmosphere was really relaxed. I told David what I wanted, and he walked me through a bunch of questions, like what color her other jewelry is, what does the jewelry look like, what’s her normal style, etc. He also asked what my budget was and then recommended a few different pieces. I purchased one of the necklaces he suggested and my girlfriend absolutely loves it. The experience was really great, I’d recommend them for anyone who wants to buy a nice gift but has no idea where to start!
