The store has a wide selection of books, gifts and cards. Three levels including an underground kiss and teens area, novels and gifts, and a cafe. The cafe serves delicious food. The scones are a must. Only one toilet that becomes congested quickly. Highly recommend.

I love having real bookstores. Every time I have needed assistance here the standard of service has been exceptionally high - it’s clear the team take pride in their work and that they WANT to work there. On my last shop I went to the pens and inks counter to look at options for new fountain pen inks. The staff member who helped me, Reza, had fantastic product knowledge and let me spend the time I needed to look at products in the cases, without me feeling pressured to purchase. These products are mostly in display/glass cases so the service required her to stay with me, and I never felt rushed. As a result I bought much more than I probably would have otherwise (ha!). I also went to the art book section to look at colour theory options and there was a nice selection there, too. Very impressed with the store, the layout is also great for browsing without being on top of other shoppers, even if it’s busy.

Great book store with cafe which does a good toasted sandwich and coffee. Over two stories this store has all your book needs covered. You can stay as long or short as you want and find your next read. There are staff notes at the shelves for inspiration and tips. Staff is also available to answer any questions, they are easily identifiable in their black aprons. Can't flaw this store, always worth a visit

Hello, I'll share a little experience for first-timers, you should use a credit card to pay for drinks on the first floor (I used cash for small expenses, because I'll have to pay extra fees for using it abroad for the bank). And after lunch, I paid, then bought books + battery charger converter. Then I went back to the first floor to drink and charge my battery (table 24). I've never remembered it so clearly, because of her (I didn't care about the name tag or anything, because it was a rainy day, very hot and constantly changing, and everything was crowded because of Black Friday) She took my order and told me that THE PREVIOUS TABLE IS NUMBER 28, WHEN PAYING, SAY THIS. I was quite surprised and told her that okay but I paid, she left and came back asking me if I used Dumpling? (Me: Yes but I paid) / She 😒😕. I was quite breathless with this doubt. I proactively called her and asked if she had clarified that I had paid? / SHE: BUT U DIDN'T PAY!? / Me: 😟🙁😡 again PAID, PLEASE CHECK CAMERA, if you can't think of a way to VERIFY RIGHT OR WRONG !!? / She continued to leave quickly like the previous 2 times not wanting to clarify but doubting ???? What is happening to ME? FINALLY I paid for the water and got an awkward smile which was the only smile she gave me anyway, the unhappy customer FROM A BEAUTIFUL- KNOWLEDGEABLE- PEACEFUL BOOKSHOP. I don't understand what the smile means but I want to take advantage of the fact that it hasn't been long, THE CAMERA IS STILL ON, SOMEONE CHECK AND TELL ME THE TRUTH. AND MY DAY IS BAD AGAIN BECAUSE I HAVE TO SHARE THIS. Maybe you're unhappy because you have to work / I'M GOING OUT. But I don't deserve to suffer these things, no clarity, no confrontation, NO BILL for 2 orders WATER AND DUMPLING. What should I say, you guys should pay more attention in similar cases, AND the person in charge at the BOOKSTORE, PLEASE CHECK THE CAMERA AND REPLY TO ME. Thank you.

One of the most well-known bookstores in Sydney. Its situated near Pitt Street Mall, so its a quick walk from QVB & Town Hall light rail stops. The bookstore has three levels: ground level with the kiosk & best sellers, the downstairs with childrens & educational books; and upstairs with lifestyle / hobby books and a cafe.
