I had a truly wonderful dining experience at Flat Iron. The steak was prepared flawlessly, and the atmosphere was delightful. Our waitress, Sophie, was exceptionally brilliant, demonstrating great friendliness and a welcoming demeanor. I would certainly recommend giving this restaurant a try.

I’ve visited Flat Iron before in London and had a very good experience, which is why this visit in Bristol was quite disappointing. The food itself was not bad overall, but the steak was a major issue. I ordered medium well, yet the colour clearly showed it was much closer to medium. On top of that, the steak was only lukewarm rather than properly hot, which is really not acceptable for a steak dish. As for the drinks, I had to request a replacement because the glass was filled with excessive ice — more than half the drink was ice. Unfortunately, even after it was replaced, the same issue remained. You could clearly see that after finishing the drink, a large amount of ice was still left in the glass, which says a lot. The atmosphere also felt uncomfortable. When ordering, the staff member seemed awkward and unsure, which made the whole dining experience feel uneasy rather than welcoming. Given my previous positive experience in London, this Bristol branch was a real let-down. Overall, the experience felt poorly executed and below the standard I expected from Flat Iron.

This is my second time visiting flat iron in Bristol and it will always be my to go place for steak. The medium flat iron steak we ordered is very tender with simple flavours, sometimes with the flavour of butter. For sides we ordered the spinach and beef dripping chips, the spinach is always delicious but the beef dripping chips sometimes has more flavour of beef sometimes less, but overall it’s good. We also ordered the pink lemonade and small beer larger. The larger is crispy, light, it goes very well with chips and steak. The pink lemonade is the always to go drink for me, the sourness is just right with flavour of ginger and rose. However, the first time we visited when it first opened it didn’t have the taste of ginger. Comparing with the first visit when it first opened, the service has improved with more explanation of the menu and the food came much faster. The seats are comfortable and they allow people to sit here longer after the meal chatting, very good service.

Flat Iron never disappoints. I’ve tried a few of their branches across London and the consistency here is exceptional. The flat iron steak was cooked perfectly and so tender it genuinely melts in the mouth. The creamy mash is still my absolute favourite, buttery, smooth and ridiculously comforting. I came with my in-laws and we all had a brilliant experience. Our server, Indie, was fantastic. She was friendly, attentive and really looked after us. Special mention as well to Louie who was incredibly warm and attentive throughout our visit. The team made everything feel effortless. I’ll definitely be back. 10/10 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I recently visited Flat Iron and had a great overall experience. We ordered the Wagyu Denver and the Flat Iron steak, both cooked beautifully and full of flavor. My absolute favourite part of the meal was the Crispy Bone Marrow Garlic Mash incredibly rich, crispy, and comforting. A must-try side! I also had the citrus margarita, which was a bit more sour than I prefer, but still refreshing. A special mention to our server, Alex, who was friendly, attentive, and made the experience even better. Overall, I’m very happy with the food, service, and atmosphere. Would gladly come back again!
