I have experience with commercial Pilates studios and since moving to Pittsburgh wanted to find a more specialized, intimate studio. Had a private session with Sueann and it was such an incredible experience! I’ve done dozens of Pilates classes but this is the first one I truly felt like I was aware of my form and my movements. I am soooo lucky to have found both Harmony and one of their amazing instructors Deirdre when I moved back to Pittsburgh from Chicago last year. Although I've been working with really good Pilates trainers in private sessions for more than seven years, I have made the most progress working with Deirdre. I have become stronger and, yes, more graceful but more than anything, I so appreciate her optimism, her knowledge about Pilates and how the body moves, and her encouragement on days when I'm not at my best. My form has improved significantly--and so has my confidence as I slowly work on more advanced moves. Thank you Harmony--and thank you Deirdre! And Harmony as a studio is simply one of the best in both Pittsburgh and other cities where I've lived. The ambience is peaceful, the equipment and facilities first rate, and I always leave feeling more balanced and--in harmony.
Harmony Pilates Studio is such a peaceful place! All of the instructors are very knowledgeable about anatomy and muscle movement. I enjoy my time there and my flexibility has improved greatly. If one set of exercises is not working for you, they always find another way to accomplish the same goal for that muscle group. All of the instructors are brimming with compassion but Sueann is my special angel.
i started Pilates training reluctantly, thinking that it would be a short term event. I have since become a full-fledged devotee. The discipline itself is great, but Harmony adds a new dimension. My instructor is very knowledgeable about the human anatomy, and weaves that knowledge into the training so that I have a better understanding about what's happening inside! She also has a terrific feel for my strengths and limitations, and how best to deal with them. The facility, the equipment and the instructors are all first class. I highly recommend Harmony to anyone who wants to enhance their mind and body - painlessly.
Harmony is an amazing studio for mindful movement. I started training there almost two years ago, post surgery. I had some residual back pain and limited range of motion. The majority of my back pain is gone, and I now have full range of motion in my arm. The studio is a peaceful and nurturing space that is very welcoming. All of the instructors work with the individual to tailor sessions to the client's body and needs. All bodies and all ages are welcomed warmly. It is such a nice alternative to the traditional gym. The instructors love what they do and it shows.
