This was my very first Pilates experience, and I couldn’t have asked for a better introduction. The studio is beautifully clean and welcoming, and the staff is friendly, professional, and genuinely fun to be around. The instructors create such a supportive and comfortable environment, which made the experience even more special. They are very attentive—checking in on how you’re doing and helping you adjust where needed—so it never feels like you’re on your own or lost. I left feeling so glad I tried it and truly enjoyed every moment. I absolutely recommend this studio to anyone curious about Pilates or seasoned practitioners looking for a more personal and uplifting studio atmosphere.

I popped into IM = X Pilates & Fitness Studio on the East Side for a preview class, and it was a really sweet first look at a brand-new, family-run studio. You can feel the heart behind this place right away—mother, son, sister all involved—and the energy was welcoming from the start. They currently offer Reformer and Mat Pilates, with plans to add Tower Pilates and cycle bikes soon (which I’m excited to see roll out). The reformers are unique to the franchise, and we got to try jump boards, various straps, planks, push-ups, and crunches—definitely a solid, challenging workout. I took an intermediate class and felt it, which makes me curious about their upcoming Extreme level. I also appreciated having both a male and female instructor—especially fitting since Pilates was created by a man—and both were knowledgeable and supportive. Since this was a preview, they’re still working out some kinks (sound system, mics, etc.), which is totally expected this early on. Pricing is on the higher end for a drop-in ($38), though they do offer intro deals and packages, and they’re not on ClassPass just yet. While this may not end up being my go-to studio, I think IM = X has a lot of potential, especially as everything comes fully online—and it’s always nice to support a new, locally run spot finding its rhythm.

I absolutely love taking Pilates with Lara and Kristina. They are both incredibly knowledgeable, attentive, and genuinely care about proper form and individual needs. Every class feels intentional, challenging, and safe, no matter your experience level. Lara brings such a calm, grounding energy while still pushing you to get stronger, and Kristina is amazing at cueing and modifications — I always feel supported and motivated. Together, they create an environment that’s welcoming, professional, and empowering. I’ve noticed real improvements in my strength, posture, and overall body awareness since training with them. Highly recommend their classes to anyone looking for high-quality Pilates instruction.
