I boarded my cats here for a week in July 2025 and at that time they were well cared for, so I felt comfortable returning in January 2026. Unfortunately, this second experience was completely different and very upsetting. When I collected my cats, I was shocked by the condition of their accommodation. Their litter tray had not been emptied, there was faeces on the floor, no water or heating available, and their cat basket was soiled with faeces. I had also specifically requested that my cats only be fed the required daily amount, yet all of their food had been dumped into the kennel and the food container left on the floor. I asked staff for an explanation but was told that no one could account for what had happened because everyone “hadn’t been on duty.” This lack of accountability, combined with the conditions my cats were kept in, felt like complete neglect. Given my experience, I would not recommend this cattery unless significant improvements are made to care standards and supervision.
So grateful to have found Laburnum kennels. It was my beagle’s first time in kennels in over three years and I was very anxious leaving him, but the team completely put my mind at ease and as soon as I saw him when I collected him I knew he had been shown nothing but love and care during his stay. Especially grateful for the pictures of him during his stay and the contact from the team while we were apart. He will definitely be coming to stay at Laburnum again in the future. Thank you so much.
The only people we trust with our dogs. The staff and facilities are brilliant. Can never do enough to help you and are really lovely people who take pride in caring for animals. Cannot recommend highly enough. Our German Shepherd, Jackson, is reactive and nervous around strangers and other dogs - but the team have spent time getting to know him before he first stayed and he has gotten to the point now where he genuinely seems to enjoy his time there with them and his sister Abbie. The team always put our minds at ease and always send photos/updates. Best boarding kennels around!
I couldn’t be happier with the care my dog received at Laburnum Kennels. The staff are warm, professional, and clearly passionate about animals. I was given regular updates, which really put my mind at ease while I was away. My dog came home happy, healthy, and well looked after. The facilities are clean and secure, and it’s clear the dogs are treated like family. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a safe and loving environment for their pet 😊
Absolutely brilliant kennels. I have left my dog here three times now and have been really pleased each time. My dog can be a little difficult sometimes, but the staff here have always put my mind at ease and assured me that it's no problem. They put picture updates on their Facebook group regularly, which also really helps. I would wholeheartedly recommend Laburnum to anyone who is nervous about leaving their dog/cat as nothing is too much trouble 😊 Here is one of the pictures I was sent when I was on a recent trip.
