The BEST dining experience in the Stockyards! A good friend recommended Lonesome Dove Western Bistro for our 39th anniversary dinner in December and I am glad we were able to book such a wonderful place. Our server Oscar was very helpful and guided us through their signature drinks, unique menu, sides and desserts. We started off with the tastiest drink, the jalapeño cucumber margarita. It is vibrant and flavorful, can't recommend it enough. We then sampled the rabbit-rattlesnake sausage as our appetizer. For our second course we selected the butter lettuce which is made with a delicious red chili buttermilk zesty dressing. As far as the main courses, we had the elk loin and roasted garlic stuffed beef tenderloin. We selected the burnt carrots and crispy Brussels for our sides. We didn't have any room left for dessert but as a surprise, we were gifted a glass of champagne to help us celebrate our special day. Highly recommend a visit to this fabulous restaurant when in Fort Worth.

Finally got to try Tim Love's unassuming gem. Walking by you would miss this place with it's rustic door. Once inside it is very masculine and more like a hunting lodge. The inside dining room is less smoky although it is quieter in the front where the bar is. Welcoming staff from the moment we walked in. 3 Managers came by to say hi and introduce themselves. Great, though expensive wine list. We had the Senegal Cab. A very interesting, game heavy, menu. We started with the Fettine Trio. A "Charcuterie board" of Duck/Rabbit/Rattlesnake sausage - Black Buck/Pork Belly - Texas Wild Boar. Super thinly sliced. You couldn't really appreciate the flavors. For 1st course we tried: the Kangaroo Nachos, Interesting but chewy. The Blue Corn-Lobster Hush puppies that were soft and pillowy but no Lobster flavor. The Fries Oysters were excellent as were the sticky sweet Wild Boar Ribs. I could eat a bowl of those. For Main course we had the Garlic stuffed Beef Tenderloin which was perfectly Medium and super tender and moist. The Rabbit Ravioli was flavorless with a light broth. Nothing exceptional as expected. The dish could have benefited from a nice reduction instead of the broth and actual pieces of Rabbit stuffing rather than the ragout. The Roasted TX mushrooms side was an excellent dish and great side to the Tenderloin. We finished with a great Ancho Chile decadent soft Chocolate Cake with a lovely Vanilla Ice Cream. A great night overall. Thanks for the great service Laura. We'll be back.

Larger work group dinner, was managed well by the staff. The food? Great with novel menu options. Apps including an elk item was flavorful. Creative drinks and the steak was perfect in every way. Took a gamble on the dessert-cheesecake. It was an in-house chocolate creation WOW, like none other. Bought another slice to take home to the family bc I’m a nice person 😊.

EXCELLENT STAFF AWESOME FOOD TEXAS VIBE This is an upscale restaurant in a nicely relaxed setting definitely run smoothly by a sharp management team. My wife and I dined here in June of 2025. We had a reservation at 6PM as we like to dine early and leave time for after-dinner cocktails. We were greeted by the valet opening the door for us. Very nice. And then the nice hostess got us seated. The decor is Texas/cowboy/ranch with similar vibe. Real nice. Very quickly our server arrived and started serving us. He was one of the most enthusiastic servers we have ever met. Chatting to us to make us feel like home. Talking about the food on the menu and the special steaks they have. He had a great knowledge of wine and could recommend wines for our taste. Really a great experience on that facet alone. The menu is incredible. It offers you choices you didn’t even know existed. And it all sounds sooooo delicious. The difficulty is to limit yourself. The food was very amazing - really well made and seasoned. Very delicious. The noise level at 6-8PM was low and increased to moderate-high as we were getting ready to leave shortly after 8PM. Overall an exceptional Texas-vibe experience. Definitely a must-do when in town.

We went for lunch and received a warm friendly greeting from the lady who showed us to our table. The service and food throughout in one word was ‘faultless’. If you’re a chocolate lover, the award winning warm chocolate dessert was one of the best chocolate desserts I’ve ever had and I’ve had a lot! Our server, Connor, was friendly, professional and knowledgeable about the food and wine and he went above and beyond to ensure we had a great time along with the expertly cooked and presented great food. Connor even gave us a history and tour of the restaurant and recommendations of things to do after the meal which completed our day trip to Southworth Stockyards. Hope to return and sample the more extensive evening menu before we leave Texas. Highly recommend this restaurant if you appreciate good food.
