We have been incredibly pleased with our experience at Maryland Martial Arts. Sensei Jon and the entire team are truly amazing. My daughter is enrolled in the Little Ninja class, which is just 30 minutes long, and I am consistently impressed by how much they manage to fit into that time. The class is engaging, well-paced, and full of meaningful activities and skill-building. As an elementary educator, I’m especially impressed with Sensei Jon’s ability to engage young children, manage materials and time seamlessly, remember every student’s name, and introduce new skills in a way that feels fun and accessible. My daughter is naturally a little shy, but the instructors meet her exactly where she is. They are patient, encouraging, and thoughtful in helping her feel comfortable and confident. She loves going so much that she insisted on having her birthday party there—which speaks volumes! I highly recommend Maryland Martial Arts to any family looking for a positive and confidence-building environment for their child.

This is by far the BEST Martial Arts school I have ever seen. Sensei Jon calls each and every kid by their names!, treats them with so much kindness and respect. He conducts his classes with a great deal of diligence and devotion. His training methods and progression schemes help students to gain foundational skills quickly and improve steadily. My son has been going for 2 years now, and I am more than happy with the changes I see on him in karate skillsets, competence, and confidence. I owe it all to Sensei Joh. I recommend Maryland Martial Arts to anyone who needs to develop their child at such an affordable price. My big thanks to Sensei Jon and his team.

Could not be happier with our experience at MMA! We enrolled our 5 year old who has motor planning difficulties as well as some emotional regulation challenges. He had a hard time joining class the first day, and Ms. Marta was incredible and got him on the mat and engaged. Sensai John has more patience than anyone I know. All of the teachers have been incredible in supporting and engaging all the children, as well as teaching my child in a way that supports his motor planning.
