I love this pet hospital! Dr. Press is kind, practical, doesn’t push treatments. And loves our cat Ziji! The team is equally compassionate, friendly and skillful. And I always chuckle at their joke of the month…

I have hit my limit with this place. I’ve been in San Francisco for nearly 20 years, and over the years I’ve had to take my dog clients to this vet hospital. I’ve even worked at a dog rescue where I had to be at this vet office every now and again to get the dogs their vaccinations before adoption. Years ago I had a client whose dog was a patient at this vets office. She was put on antibiotics for nearly a year. She had blood in her stool all that time. Turns out all she needed was a routine, two minute rectal exam to find the polyps she had that were bleeding. These could’ve turned cancerous in that amount of time. Her people had gone to Mexico and when I arrived to watch her for their vacation, the pups rectum had prolapsed. There was blood everywhere and I had to rush her to the emergency vet. She needed surgery. Now I have a client who is clearly having dental issues. Even the veterinarian there noticed the pup has a cracked tooth. My clients asked if their dog needed his teeth cleaned three years ago, and the veterinarian said that it would be a waste of money. Now my client’s dog will not chew anything remotely hard, and he just had a check up two months ago. The dog is swallowing his treat chews whole and is nearly choking frequently. At his latest visit, the veterinarian there said he his teeth were fine again. The pup likely needs tooth extractions. Luckily, they took my advice and are getting a second opinion. Go to a different veterinary clinic if you need good care for your pets.

I have been coming here for decades. I moved out of the City ten years ago and stopped but recently came back due to our lab being very sick. I just want to say that Dr Press has been nothing but amazing and understanding in dealing with our dogs complex IBD issues. Thank you Mission Pet (Also a shout out to Dave Gordon who is amazing too)

Dr Chloe Read and the entire MPH team are the best of the best. I’ve been a client for 3 years now and the level of attention, care, and expertise we have received is unmatched. I moved from Southern California and was initially worried I would struggle finding a suitable pet hospital. Dr Read takes the time truly understand my dog’s needs (from injuries to behavioral issues) and carefully provides explanations and solutions until we come up with one that we are both comfortable and confident in. If you are looking for a new veterinarian look no further!

Terrific vet clinic. There are many different vets and all of the ones I've spoken with have been knowledgeable and great. They made me feel like my cats are in good hands. They respond very quickly to questions by phone or email. They have convenient hours, with later appointments on weekdays and are also open Saturdays.
