Jonathan Ade (JONOKINO)
(for physical therapist Allison Amaya) How often do you look forward to going to your doctor? Any doctor? What guarantee that a session of any kind will make you feel better when you leave? The phrase "miracle worker" isn't apt because physical therapy is a lot of hard work, and the patient is ultimately the one in charge of their own recovery. But you can't climb that mountain without a guide, and I couldn't have asked for a more thoughtful and attentive guide than Allison Amaya. She had a better handle on my condition than my own podiatrist, and the exercises that we worked on laid a strong foundation for my recovery. All PT is frustrating. The changes don't take place overnight. Just a month ago I was still using a knee scooter to get around. But recently I've been back on walks with no pain to speak of. That's Allison for you. I want her to be my primary care physician because her bedside manner is just that good. Hopefully you can get lucky enough to find a provider as good as her.
