For experienced kickboxers and muey thai fighters, MTA should need absolutely no introduction. Petchpanomrung Kiatmookao is the #1 ranked featherweight kickboxer in the world, current Glory champion, and all around nicest guy you could ever meet. But for people looking to start kickboxing and muey thai, MTA is an even better place to start the journey. Many gyms push conditioning over technique. And at the end of the day you will be stronger, but not better. Whats going to separate your growth is the very beginner friendly all-levels pad classes, where you can train at a more technical pace with the friendliest group of killers in the city. If you are looking to move to the next level, nothing beats THAI STYLE play sparring. No concussions, no ego, just fun.

I had no prior experience in Muay Thai. I thought that the beginners class was great. The coaches were attentive, as there were several of them on the mats, which made it easy to get help. Everyone, from the trainers to the other members, was welcoming and supportive. Highly recommend this gym if you’re new and looking to start your Muay Thai journey in a friendly and encouraging environment!

Vancouver has such a wide variety of excellent martial arts gyms it’s so hard to choose one. I love Muay Thai so I’ve been going to Academy for just a couple months and don’t regret it. It’s definitely the best place to train pure traditional Muay Thai. The trainers are excellent, incredibly friendly as well as incredibly deadly, and they’ll teach you to be too! Antonio, Connor and Adrian have been excellent to me so far. Always open for a nice chat in between sessions. They’re very technical and will help with simple cues that immediately fixes technique. They even have dedicated clinch sessions Tuesday/Thursday when beginners are training. Good mix of both men and women so that’s a good sign of a very welcoming and positive gym culture. Looking forward to more and will enjoy my time training here. Not to mention the branded Fairtex gear (check out these guards!). Top notch! Five outta Five stars ⭐️

A Welcoming Haven for Muay Thai Beginners or Pros I've been training at Muay Thai Academy for the past five months, and I couldn't be happier with my experience. From the moment I stepped through the door, I was greeted with encouragement. The environment here is incredibly welcoming, and it's all thanks to the amazing team, especially the beginner coach, Charlie. Charlie is not only one of the funniest coaches you'll meet in martial arts, but he's also incredibly friendly and supportive. He goes out of his way to create a comfortable atmosphere where beginners like myself feel empowered to ask questions and push ourselves beyond our limits. His enthusiasm for Muay Thai is contagious, and it's clear that he genuinely cares about the progress and well-being of each and every student. To anyone considering trying out Muay Thai, I urge you not to hesitate any longer. Just come in for your first session and see for yourself what a fantastic community this gym has created. Whether you're a complete beginner or have some experience under your belt, you'll find a place here where you can grow and thrive. Trust me, once you step onto the mats, you'll be hooked just like I am.
