Shakti is an amazing place to develop your yoga practice and spiritual practice, too! My favorite class is the Yin Yoga on Thursday nights, which is one I always recommend to beginners who may not have practiced in a flow class before. We take our time getting settled into each posture and hold for several minutes with the support of pillows and props. This class involves deep breathing and deep stretching, which is an awesome way to unwind after my work day. I have been going to Shakti for years and would highly recommend to anyone interested in yoga in the Buffalo area. 🙏🏻💗

Shakti is unlike any yoga studio you've been to. This isn't about doing a "workout" or just improving your flexibility. These instructors are highly skilled in taking you to a deeper place with your yoga practice, both physically and mentally. Every time I go to a class at Shakti, I walk out with a greater awareness of my body and a more grounded, present state of mind. It's hard to explain the style of these classes - just take a class and you will understand! I also highly recommend going to their Saturday concert series.

Shakti Yoga has been a transformative experience for me. The diverse community of like-minded individuals, paired with a variety of yoga, meditation, and mindfulness classes offered seven days a week, has truly opened my eyes. Michelle, the owner, is not only down-to-earth but also incredibly knowledgeable and experienced. Thanks to Shakti Yoga, I have become more vulnerable and in-touch with my inner voice. The opportunities to contribute my creative talents, such as assisting with photography and videography for social media, have been truly fulfilling. I wholeheartedly recommend Shakti Yoga to anyone looking to deepen their practice and be part of a welcoming community.

I’ve been a student of Shakti Yoga for about a year and a half now, and can say with certainty that this yoga studio is one of the most sacred gems of Buffalo. I was welcomed into the warm community with open arms as a pretty new student to the practice of yoga. Shakti offers classes for all levels with a team of lovely facilitators, including Shakti flow, yin, gentle yoga with meditation, the Feldenkrais Method, and other special events like live music nights with local and traveling musicians, mantra meditation and guest speakers. The space itself is a renovated bank, with gorgeous high ceilings, a heated practice floor and the charm you’d expect to find in any historic Buffalo building. Plus, there is a parking lot in the back of the building, off Boyd St! Michelle, Shakti’s director, intuitively and consciously holds space for healing and growth to take place; you can feel the love and devotion that she has poured into the incredible space as soon as you step through the doors. Shakti truly is a sanctuary for healing, and the inspiration I’ve experienced and wisdom I’ve learned through being a student here will forever be with me, and I am so grateful for that!

Had a fabulous Thanksgiving morning yoga session at Shakti with Michelle and David. Michelle's guidance and inspiration were enlightening. David provided live music on clarinet, guitar and meditation bowls. The whole experience was moving. Sun streamed through the large windows and everyone was welcoming and friendly. I'd definitely return.
